Chapter 5 - Problem

"The point is, I don't like your relationship with Janu, Lila." Adam insisted, who had been arguing with Kalila in the kitchen.

"Mas Adam, your problems with Mas Janu have been around for a very long time. Why don't you just forget about it?! Mas Janu is really nice to me." Kalila's Comments

"I don't want you to be hurted by Janu. Do you understand what I mean? I don't want you to be lulled by him!!!" Adam shouted

"He's sincere with me!" Kalila exclaimed and immediately looked away from Adam.

"Hey, hey. Why are you two making such a fuss in the kitchen? Do you still have rice supplies?" Asked Arwan, Kalila's father and Adam by giving a little joke.

"Here is the thing, Dad. I forbade Kalila to have contact with Janu. But she still doesn't listen."

"Mas, why do I have to deal with your problems, anyway?" Kalila immediately put the knife she was holding roughly on the kitchen table.

"Wait a minute… Who is Janu?" Arwan asked confusedly.

"Janu Sanjaya. Gunadhya Sanjaya's son is the owner of the company where you used to work." Adam's answer explained.

Arwan sat on the kitchen chair while heaving a deep breath "Lila… Do you loves Janu?" Arwan asked softly.

"Yes, Dad. I love Mas Janu."

"They are not equal to us, Lila. You know who Gunadhya is. I was also immediately fired by him until I didn't have a job to support you for months. At that time you were still in high school. Until Adam was looking for to make money while he had to go to college too." Arwan explained.

"Yes! How can I accept that you have a relationship with Janu? First I had a problem with him. Second, our dad suddenly fired by Janu's father. If he was a professional, Dad shouldn't be fired by the owner of the company, Lil. There is already another division in charge of it." Adam said.

"This time I agree with your brother. I ask you to take Janu away slowly, okay, Lil." Adam said in a pleading tone to Kalila.

Kalila's eyes started to turn red when her father asked her to get away from Janu. She knew very well how difficult circumstances befell his family when Arwan was fired and did not have a job at that time.

Yes, it was times when Kalila had to decide whether to continue her studies or not. Meanwhile, Arwan and Widia's savings are getting thinner day by day. However, with Adam, Kalila was finally able to continue her studies. Kalila still vividly remembers the events of the past few years and she will never forget that difficult time.

Kalila was forced to nod, agreeing to Arwan's request. She couldn't do much at that time because Janu's family was the reason who had made his family down.

Kalila meets Janu at one of the cafes and explains to Janu that their relationship is not approved by her family because of their socio-economic differences and also the problems created between Arwan and Gunadhya.

"Lila, I want to meet your dad. I want to explain that Dad and I are different. It's all a work problem, Lil. I just can't accept their work problems have to do with our relationship." Janu explained with a frustrated look.

"Yes, I understand, Mas. But for now, don't let our relationship be discovered by them, okay. Slowly, maybe they can accept it." Kalila explained while holding Janu's hand tightly.

"Yes, Lil. I'm sorry for what happened and sorry for what my family did to your family." Janu immediately hugged Kalila, as if he didn't want her to be separated from his arms.

"It's okay. Don't be sad, okay?" Kalila said while still in Janu's arms.

"Don't be sad either."

Kalila also released her arms from Janu "I'm not sad, Mas. But I'm hungry." Kalila said trying to lighten the mood.

Janu immediately chuckled at the statement of the woman he loved, "Hahaha, you are so funny. You make me laughing in a sad situation. Okay, be patient. The order took too long to come. I called the waiter first."

Kalila held Janu's hand and stopped his steps "It's okay, Mas. Just leave it alone. I'm joking."

Janu looked at Kalila with a sincere look and immediately kissed Kalila's forehead in front of the crowd.

"I love you, Lila."
