He staggered through the room, holding back the retching feeling that was gnawing at his gut as he headed for the bathroom. He splashed water on his face, squinting his eyes hard shut to try and get rid of the pain. It felt like his insides were being punctured by a hundred needles while being simultaneously heated with a blow torch.
As quickly as it had begun, it soon stopped. He remembered a type of fear when he tried to save someone from an accident but the ambulance. He could have sworn he saw that same fear play across his face almost a minute ago. The laughter from the living room jeered him out of his thoughts as he resumed splashing water on his face.
