Two, two, one!
Five points!
The dice cup was revealed, and these were the points of the man with gold-framed glasses.
His eyes locked onto the three dice, his face changing colors. Five points? How could this be the points he rolled?
"Thanks." Xu Mo directly returned the man's words. The man adjusted his glasses and stared at Xu Mo, saying, "One more round."
"Release the person first." Xu Mo said coldly. The man glanced at Bai Wei's direction. His subordinate moved behind him, and Bai Wei tried to escape. To her, Xu Mo might not be any different from the man with gold-framed glasses.
"If you leave now, will your father let you go?" Xu Mo said with his back to Bai Wei. She froze, staring at Boss Bai who had just stood up on the other side, her face pale.
A wave of sadness surged in her heart. It seemed that no matter how hard she struggled, it was meaningless.
"How do you want to play?" Xu Mo asked the man with gold-framed glasses.
"Three thousand four hundred Federation coins, betting against the Federation coins on your table along with her." The man with gold-framed glasses fixed his gaze on Xu Mo, wanting to make it all back in one go.
"Not enough." Xu Mo tapped his fingers on the table. "Five thousand."
"You..." The man with gold-framed glasses stared at Xu Mo. Earlier, Xu Mo had bet with one thousand seven hundred Federation coins on Bai Wei. Now, doubling it shouldn't be a problem, but Xu Mo suddenly upped the ante.
"Are you playing or not?" Xu Mo's voice remained calm.
"Fine." The man with gold-framed glasses stared at Xu Mo, his eyes cold. At this point, it wasn't just about the money for him anymore.
He handed over five thousand Federation coins to the waiter, and they started again. The waiter covered the dice cups and then made a gesture of invitation.
The man with gold-framed glasses withdrew his gaze from Xu Mo and looked at the dice cup. This time, he was obviously serious.
Xu Mo, however, still looked at his opponent with a calm demeanor as he shook the dice cup.
For Boss Bai to gamble against him was seeking death.
And for his opponent to gamble against him was the same; no matter how skilled the gambler, the outcome would be the same.
The dice cup shook continuously. After a long while, the man with gold-framed glasses released his hand and looked up at Xu Mo, a cold smile in his eyes.
Xu Mo also stopped. This time, the waiter revealed the dice cup of the man with gold-framed glasses first. The surrounding onlookers seemed even more nervous than the two gamblers at the table, all eyes fixed on the waiter's hand.
The dice cup was uncovered, revealing the dice inside.
A burst of noise erupted suddenly.
The three dice showed: five points, five points, six points.
Sixteen points!
"Your turn." Squinting, the man with gold-framed glasses spoke. Xu Mo remained expressionless as the waiter placed his hand on Xu Mo's dice cup.
Everyone was watching. The crowd quieted down, focusing on the waiter's movements. Under their gaze, the waiter unveiled the dice cup.
"Boom..." As soon as the dice were revealed, the surrounding noise erupted instantly. A commotion broke out, with everyone staring incredulously at the three dice.
"Exciting!"
"Impressive!"
"How did he do it?" Voices mixed together, as the man with gold-framed glasses stared fixedly at Xu Mo's points.
Five, six, six.
Seventeen points!
The first round, small stakes.
The second round, high stakes.
"Master!" At this moment, everyone understood that the man with gold-framed glasses was up against a gambling master, someone whom they hadn't seen before.
"What's your name?" The man with gold-framed glasses apparently realized this as well, taking a deep breath to calm down. Smiling, he asked Xu Mo, not intending to gamble further. After losing two rounds in a row, why would he think he could win the third? He wasn't a gambler.
"Hunter." Xu Mo pocketed the Federation coins. With over six thousand Federation coins, that was considerable in the underworld. Those who participated in the fighting arena risked their lives for just a few hundred or thousand Federation coins.
"The Hunter who killed Ryan?"
The man with gold-framed glasses clearly knew about the last fight.
Xu Mo glanced at him. It seemed he could get some information here.
He turned and left the gambling table, and immediately, Boss Bai stepped forward and addressed Xu Mo: "Mr. Hunter, two thousand Federation coins, my daughter is yours."
"Hmm?" Xu Mo stared at Boss Bai. Was he trying to sell her again?
"If I remember correctly, you already sold your daughter once," Xu Mo said, smiling peacefully.
"Mr. Hunter." Boss Bai blocked Xu Mo's path, bowing like a beggar.
"Move!" Xu Mo's tone remained calm.
Boss Bai's face twisted as he lunged at Xu Mo's pocket, attempting to rob him.
"Bang!"
Xu Mo raised a foot and kicked him away, sending him crashing into the gambling table. Blood flowed from his head as he curled up on the ground. Looking at Bai Wei, he cried, "Wei'er, save Daddy."
Tears streaked Bai Wei's face. She stared at Boss Bai lying on the ground, her expression complex, a mix of compassion and hatred.
"If you want to be sold again, I won't stop you." Xu Mo said to Bai Wei over his shoulder, then walked forward. For a gambler who had reached a dead-end, any sympathy or pity would only enable further evil.
Bai Wei watched Xu Mo's back, then resolutely followed him, not giving her father another glance.
The edges of the fighting arena were still crowded with people, the atmosphere as frenzied as ever. In the underworld, the population density was extremely high, with hardly any greenery. Outside were houses upon houses, and the black market was a hub of people. To watch fights in the black market, you had to squeeze in.
This time, Xu Mo did not squeeze into the crowd but headed directly to the backstage area.
