Chapter 34 - Moira pt 2

In an hours time, everyone joined Drayven in the garden outside of Jessa's suite. A table was laid with sandwiches, snacks and drinks for when their visitors arrived. Drayven said they'd need food to help them recover energy as their way of traveling took much out of them.

On the ground he took pure sea salt and made a circle upon the earth, he lit white candle at each side of the circle and in a white bowl he burnt sage, patchouli and sandalwood.

At first nothing happened but a moment later it felt like the air shimmered with electricity and then three women cloaked in red stood in the circle. They were small of stature and the smallest woman was quite heavily with child. Jessa immediately felt a pull to this woman. She couldn't understand why. It was like she just knew her. Without seeing her face or hair she knew it was bark brown and that her eyes were the green of moss.

As Moira stepped forward she scanned the faces of everyone present. She sensed no ill will or intention and broke the circle with a wave of her hand. She took stock of the group as she lowered her hood and unclasped her cloak. She sent it away with another swish of her hand. Jessa found it fascinating. Moira was beautiful, in a woodland pixie sort of way. Her black hair was worn in two braids and her face was pale with a cupids bow of a smile and an upturned nose. Her eyes were wide for her face and a steady mist of gray.

Jessa stepped forward and bowed to Moira, she didn't know why but she felt compelled to do so.

Moira in return bowed back to Jess. She felt the girl's power. Not as strong as her own, no, but just as vital. My, my this little she wolf certainly was a mystery. Just as Drayven said. She held natural magicks, not gifted. And she had the Goddess's kiss on her shoulder. She certainly WAS special. Now to consult with Ivy and Hazel and see just what she was gifted with and how to train her on it. Drayven certainly didn't give them much time to do this. At best they could at least teach her to contain it and control it.

Luna Mae curtsied and spoke up to the trio of women. "We have prepared food and drinks for your arrival. We can leave you to it or we can take lunch with you. We leave it completely up to you."

"We would love it if you'll join us your grace. It's not often we get to dine with friends these days. Hazel's nearly in her birthing month and travel isn't easy these days." Moira said

At that Hazel removed her cloak in the same fashion as Moira had. Brown hair and green eyes. How had Jess known that? It puzzled her brain. The third woman removed her cloak to reveal a shock of fire red hair and green eyes. Her face was dotted with freckles and she had the same wide large eyes as Moira. This must be Ivy. She was exquisite. Absolutely gorgeous. Her body was toned and it was easy to tell she kept to a routine work out. She held a fierceness to her. Like a trained warrior standing ever at the ready, calm, and poised but ready. It contrasted with her elven face and childlike stature. It was puzzling and yet it worked.

The women sat at the table and began to pass the plates around. Hazel was famished. Eating for two was difficult enough most days, more so after expending so much energy. She eyed Jess. She certainly was a beautiful creature. She had sight for sure. She could feel that plain as day. She also had healing abilities. It oozed from her, in the mere moments of being here the child in her womb had settled into sleep and no longer danced a jig in her belly and on her spine. She had every idea Jess was responsible for that. She could smell an interesting scent in the air. Masculine and edgy. It was someone who was often in this area but wasn't present at the moment. It smelled familiar in some way. She also noted that the woman, the one with the dark hair and warrior wolf was strikingly similar to her cousin Deanta. But no one knew whatever became of her. She was stolen with her sister and never saw again. Pity.

Moira addressed the elephant at the table and said they'd eat first then assess Jessa. But she could already tell the other two were picking up on things, same as she had. They had their work cut out for them. And wasn't it something that Jessa seemed just as eager as they were to dive into this mystery. Drayven had explained that she was found among a pack of rogues, and no one knew anything about her origins or family. Maybe, just maybe they'd get some answers somewhere. It might help to get her alone and read her as they were picking up things from the others as well.

Jess's lady in waiting had a healing touch. For emotional healing, and energy healing. She had a white aura ringed with blue and gold. It was indicative of protective power and determined loyalty. Altogether exactly what one wants in a trusted lady in waiting. She was one in the line of defense to protect the Luna should need be. She would remain with the Luna when she was placed in a protective place. Not that Moira could imagine for one second that this Luna would ever allow herself to be placed in a protective place. No, no, she would stand with her pack. She had that vibe. She would likely take a chunk out of anyone who tried to make her.

Jess's powers were raw and strong. They needed to really open her up and see what she had in her. Fire first, it was the oldest and first that comes. It is also most handy in war which she felt coming. No wonder for the rush. She and Ivy might just join in, they'd been restless as of late and spoiling for a good war. Hazel would sit out. Even if she were to birth she'd be unallowed. Healing and caring for the babe in her belly would be first and foremost. Speaking of….

"Luna, is there a pack doctor who could have a look at Hazel? All the energy spent in travel, I just worry for her and the baby. She's so near her due."

"Of course. We can go to the pack hospital right away." Mae said.

"If I may, Hazel?" Jessa spoke up. Her hand outstretched to Hazel and her eyes scared but sure at the same time. Something was coursing through her. She just needed to touch this woman.

Hazel stepped forward. "Of course, Future Luna." She grasped Jessa's hand in hers. White light flooded out of Jess's hand and surrounded the two.

Jessa could feel the baby…. Wait, no, babies. There were two! She could feel the separate hearts. Mothers and babies. It was incredible. She looked at Hazel. Did she know? Did anyone? She tried to reach out by mindlink, to her and Hazel's amazement it worked.

"How?" they thought together. "Doesn't matter, there's something I want to show you, I think I know how. Do you want to know the gender? I don't know I could hide it." Jessa said.

"No one has managed to get the little bugger to stay still long enough to find out. One scan said a girl next a boy and then a girl again. We have no clue! And yes, I would love to. Please."

Jessa opened up and let Hazel experience everything she could feel. She felt the wonder and shock when Hazel realized there was more than two heartbeats, and in fact were three. Twins. One boy, one girl.

Hazel needed to be checked over by a professional of course but Jess couldn't feel anything wrong. She had no idea how she knew she could do that, she just did. And what an amazing thing that was.

Later on laying with her head on James's lap she was explaining it to him.

"It's like a shimmery light inside me. I just feel it and follow what I feel. I knew to touch her. I knew I would be able to feel them. It was so surreal. They're so small but so alive, so vital. They'll have powers too. They love her. Absolutely adore her."

"I have no doubt our babies will love you the same way." James said absently stroking her hair.
