Chapter 10 - Moving In

The doctor came in a moment later and looked over Jessa's back. The wounds were mostly closed now and would be completely by night. Jessa had no more fever and her skin looked healthier. Not that her smooth alabaster skin has much color to begin with, but what color she has was back. She was no longer pallid and gray. She surprised both of them by announcing that Jessa could go home as long as she promised to stay in bed and rest at least another two days.

That brought Jessa to another issue. She had no clothes. Exactly how was she going to go anywhere with no clothing? As if reading her mind a knock sounded at the door. James opened it to see Amelia and his sister Anna. The two had surprised everyone by becoming instant best friends despite Anna only being 15. She was the closest in size to Jessa and brought with her a bag of clothing.

"Hello Jessa, I'm Anna, your future sister-in-law! I just KNOW we're going to be the best of friends! I am so happy to finally get to meet you!" She gushed.

Jessa smiled at the pretty petite blue eyed blonde. She was so bubbly and her smile was absolutely contagious! She had no doubt she'd get along fine with the spunky young girl. Behind them was a woman. Tall and graceful. Her flaxen hair was worn in loose curls around her face. She was clearly older and carried an air of authority but not staunchness like Kelly. She was calmer than her daughter but still you could tell she was friendly. Her smile genuine.

"Hello dear, I'm Luna Mae. This is my daughter Anna as she already said and this is her twin brother Alex." She gestured at a shy boy with raven hair and blue eyes. He was taller than Anna but not quite as tall as his mother.

"Hello Luna. And hello Alex." She sent a smile to the boy. He turned red all the way to his ears then smiled back.

"Nice to meet you ma'am!" He bowed.

"No need for that! Just call me Jessa or Jess" she smiled back.

"Yes ma'am… I mean Jess." He grinned again.

Amelia and Luna Mae helped Jessa into the bathroom and helped her dress. Luna Mae clucking her tongue and fretting over the scars and wounds like a worried mother hen. She was hiding her absolute rage over how her future daughter had been treated. She wants to go rip Kelly's head clean off her shoulders for it!

"I set your room up already. There's some basics to get you by, but when you feel a little better I'll arrange for Anna as well as Amelia and your lady in waiting to take you clothes shopping at the mall. Amelia has already found her job here. And young Caleb is preparing for attending his first day of school at the high school now. Alex and Anna are heading there now. They'll make sure he finds classes and such. He's going to have a wonderful time. Not to worry dear." She said warmly.

Jessa felt instantly relieved knowing that he was finally getting to go to school as he'd always longed too. She hoped he would fit right in and that he'd make friends. Such a happy go lucky little punk. He deserved to be a normal teenager for once. No more hours toiling away in the pack fields and mucking horse stalls.

When she was more or less properly dressed in jeans and a sweater, minus a bra as the teenagers did not begin to nearly fit her, she came out the bathroom with the support of the two women and James's eyes fell on her. He looked at her and smiled. She looked beautiful. Normal even. She had such an amazing figure. He was definitely in trouble. They helped her into a wheelchair and took her out to the sleek black limo waiting out front. Her face showed her child-like amazement at the luxurious car. She'd never been in one. Had only ever seen them. Luna Mae chuckled slightly at her wide eyes and wonderstruck face.

They helped her into the car and James sat beside her holding her hand. She marveled at his russet skin against her marble. It looked so right. She fit exactly against him. Like two pieces of a jigsaw. She sat sandwiched between Amelia and James, across from her future mother-in-law. They pulled away from the curb and began to ride through the town. She was amazed to find that nearly all the shoppes and businesses were were-owned. The whole town seemed to be wolves. Upon closer inspection she noted that even the corporate franchises bore the wolfen symbol required for wolf businesses. Amazing! She observed the line of small elementary school aged pups following in a double filed line behind what she assumed was the school mistress and followed up behind an elderly kind looking gentleman.

"That is head mistress Julie and her father the former head master Mark. She is married to the high school head master Logan. The littlest up front there is her daughter Bloom who is five and already determined to become the next head mistress." Luna Mae pointed out. Her voice filled with affection for the tyke and her mother. "Her mama is my second cousin. I grew up right along side her. Though in all honesty we're more like sisters. Sort of like you and Amelia." She said.

Jessa thought on that a moment. One day Amelia would meet a second chance mate. Or choose one. She could see Amelia as a mother. She had the instinct. She'd make a great mom. It made her smile thinking of it.

As the car wound through the town they crossed a magnificent bridge. It was brick laid and looked like something right out of an old painting. The car climbed up a long paved path lined with trees. They drove up it for what seemed like an eternity when before her eyes was a castle. Well, maybe not a castle but much larger and grander than the previous packs pack house. It was white stone with many windows. A rounded turret and a widows walk. It was beautiful. Surrounding the house were many smaller but very beautiful cottages. She assumed one was where she, Amelia and Caleb would be living. She was shocked when they pulled right up to the front of the pack house. A man came and opened their doors bowing to the alpha and Luna as well as herself and Amelia. James scooped her up and carried her up the stairs as the wheelchair was placed atop the stairs. He settled her into it.

"Your majesty, your grace, future Luna, and lady Amelia. Welcome home!" He said his face was pleasant. He was absolutely huge. He was a tank of a man.

"Jessa, this is Lloyd. He is our head warrior as well as the gamma. His job is to train our fighters as well as all pack members. You'll need to report to him once you're healed for training. All pack members must know basic self defense. We rarely see any issues from rogues, but it's better to be prepared and know how to defend yourself. You'll find no damsels in distress around here. I encourage all to train. I expect you'll do just fine dear!" She said when she saw Jessa's worried face. She primly crossed her legs and beat back her fears. She smiled as she spoke up:

"I've never fought. Nor have I ever been trained. I just gained my wolf while I was unconscious. I will not shirk my responsibility nor will I back down from a challenge. I will train as soon as possible." Jessa vowed.

James looked at her with pride evident on his face. She'll make an amazing Luna.
