School was abit okay the next day now that Olive and Quin were making an effort to distract me and keep an eye on me. Quin, felt that if his classes was closest to mine, he would walk me to it and Olive as well. Elijah turned up with Olive so I felt kind of good that at least some pack members was trying to help me.
As for Ashton, I hadn`t seen him since yesterday. During Homeroom, he was seated in front of the classroom with his cousin and Lana, who kept giving my group curious glances.
Guess it was big that I destroyed the school and got to talk with Peter. My classes ended up being okay since most of the things I learned was things that dad had covered with me. It kind of made me nostalgic. I kind of missed being homeschooled and getting scolded by dad because I didn`t do the work needed to do.
At lunch, I sat with Olive, Elijah and Qin. I was told to get a lot of food and even if I didn`t, Quin and Elijah had gone out to get subway sandwiches.
"Hey, about the Dance?" I asked Olive who was in middle of eating a burger. Her second one today. I could see that it bothered the girls on the other table who were eating chicken nuggets and peas. Apparently they were envious of the fact that she could eat five times the amount of food she wants and still look good. Olive let it slip that they were all humans so they didn`t get our metabolism.
Olive swallowed before speaking, "What about it?"
Elijah and Quin shook their heads at the sight of her eating habits but my friend just ignored them.
"Is it like the movies?" I asked. I was in middle of dismantling my first sandwich.
Olive titled her head to the side, "Which one?"
"She`s the Man and It`s a Boy Girl Thing movie are the only two movies I`ve watched with a Dance thing linked to it," I then added, "And the D.U.F.F."
"Okay, first, we need to get you some new movies," Olive said as she held up her thumb and then her pointer," Secondly, it is kind of and not kind of like the movies. You`ll get asked, buy a dress and go dancing with said date and your cool friend, me."
"Nice to see that you`ve included yourself in this narrative," I drawled with a grin.
Olive shrugged with a haughty smile that made Quin shake his head in amusement, "Your welcome, which reminds me, we need to figure out when we need to go dress shopping and-"
"And what if no one asks me," I interrupted her as glancing at them all," Could I go to the dance by myself? Would that be bad?"
"Of course you could, no girl like 'us' looks bad going to a dance, it`s in our genes," Olive whispered to me with a wink. "Plus someone will ask you, you`re a catch."
"Either that or you could stay home with me and watch a movie," Quin offered.
"I can?" I asked at the same time Elijah asked Quin, "You`re not going?"
Quin shook his head," Lost a bet with Ashton, I`ll be taking over at home after I drop off whoever needs a ride to the dance."
"She won`t want to stay at home," Olive insisted.
"But it`s nice to know that it is an option," I assured Quin who nodded and poked is tongue at Olive. The girl rolled her eyes and huffed," We`ll, it`s only if she wants. If no one asks her, we can both go together."
"And have you babysit me on a night full of dancing and drinking? No way, Olive," I told her.
"I won`t be babysitting, you`ll…" She stopped and considered her next words carefully," You`ll be in tune with yourself by then so everything should be fine."
"The operate word being 'should be'," Elijah added as he ate his sandwich Quin snickered and I shook my head.
"Come on you two idiots, a little positivity can`t be hard for you guys to pull off," Olive scolded the two boys.
Elijah sighed, 'You`ll be fine, Lia."
"You`ll be great and even if you want to ditch the dance, "Qin said as he tapped his chest," I`ll be great company with food and movies till 10 PM."
"Thank you," I said with a smile. The bell rang, signaling the end of lunch so I after putting away my lunch, I left for my next class. Quin and I had Chemistry together so Elijah and Olive left us at the lockers. I was thankful that the teacher didn`t mind that the both of us were lab partners. Quin was kind of cool to work with.
The teacher, a nice man called Mr. Renaldo, gave us worksheets to work on and Quin being my partner made it even better because I wasn`t sure how to answer some of the questions.
"Are you sure this isn't AP class Chemistry?" I whispered to Quin.
The male werewolf nodded as he read through his worksheet with a grin and wrote down his answer.
I huffed as I wrote down the answer to a question that I knew how to answer but paused when I reached a question I couldn`t answer," Could you help me with this?"
Quin leaned over and nodded," Okay, so this is what you do."
He wrote a formula for me to write and I nodded before building on from what he said. We managed to finish the worksheet and turn them in before Mr. Renaldo handed over an assignment paper. I wanted to die there. Quin caught my face and elbowed me sharply which made me growl. I actually growled like those wolves who were inside my kitchen. My eyes widened and I slapped hand over my mouth as Mr. Renaldo looked up at us sharply.
Quin who also turned to stare at me incredulously finally came to his senses and cleared his throat," She had too much soft drinks at lunch."
Mr. Renaldo arched a brow at us as I removed my hand and nodded to confirm. Mr. Renaldo then sighed and said, "Carry on then."
When we got back to the seat, I hissed at Quinn," What was that?!"
Quin grinned, "I think your inner beast is starting to make an appearance."
I gulped and turned to lay my head on the cool marble work table. We didn`t use the word 'wolf' lest the sneaky human hears catch us taking about the other half. That term was still foreign to me. When I was a witch, I knew that it was me and just me. My magic was a part of me. That was until I bit and had the incident in the bathroom. Now I wasn`t sure it was just me on the inside anymore.
After a while, Quin whispered, "Sorry about the elbow."
"No worries, sorry for growling."
"On the bright side, Peter and Marcus will be happy to hear that she`s making her scene," Quin commented.
I turned to arch a brow at Quin who was reading the assignment paper, "Who's she? My…inner beast?"
"Yeah, her," Quin confirmed.
"Yay for them," I mumbled and blew a raspberry but made sure it wasn't loud enough to get Mr. Renaldo`s attention.
Quin snickered at my sarcasm. I was seriously liking Quin. Out of all the boys, he was easy to get along with.
The next class was Fashion class and since I was late, I had to do a little pre- test while everyone worked on their designs. My teacher, who was Miss Amore, a petite French woman who owned her own boutique in the Mall and was teacher, was so cool.
Our major project was to design an outfit that we think screams our personality. I was already thinking sparkles and cat paws but I still had to do a pretest. For this class, I had two notes periods and three periods for working on my design. It was due the day before the dance.
Something I was so looking forward to.
Next class was History, which I had to share with Ashton, Lana, Amy, Maliah and Delilah. This time, I sat in front of Aston and took my notes while the History. Again, I was late so I wrote intro notes and read through an assignment that was also due the day before the dance. My teacher, Mr. Coleman gave me sympathetic smile when he saw how my face dropped. What was it with these assignments?! So distracting. I also had a week`s worth of copying and reading to do since I missed the first week and one day of class!
I change my mind; this day was not getting better.
Another thing that was distracting was the whispers. Lana and Amy. Maliah and Delilah. They were not hiding that that they were talking about me. I was doing okay for the first ten minutes, then it got harder to ignore. I stopped writing and felt my magic rear.
"Why can`t they leave you alone?! Do they want you to set them on fire?" A woman whispered.
"No, you`ll draw attention to yourself, just rip them to shreds," Another female voice growled. I heard a snap and then a gasp. Looking down, I saw that my new pen, my new fountain pen was now two pieces and blue ink dripping onto my desk and my hand had claws.
"Shot!" I hissed and reached into my bag for a wipes. Luckily Rachel packed them into my bag this morning. But how was I going to turn my hand back to normal? Luckily, only wolves were seated around me so they hid my hand from view and Mr. Coleman had stepped outside.
A kick on the side of desk had me turning to Amy who was glaring," Put away your claws!"
"I don`t know how!" I threw back.
"Put your hand in your bag and take deep breaths," Aston said from over my shoulder. I turned to him and he nodded slowly. Sighing, I made sure no one was looking as I did as he instructed. A minute or so later, I checked my bag and saw that my hand was back to normal but still stained with ink.
"Perfect," I muttered.
