Chapter 1 - Intro

Amongst the humans, there is a tale on how Lespenia came to be as it is and it goes about more or less like this: in the beginning, twelve races were created.

The powerful and wise dragons, the intelligent and immortal elves, the crafty and sturdy dwarves, the ever-changing and easygoing beast folk, the cowardly and weak goblins, the proud and strong orcs, the mysterious and secluded dryads, the ferocious and loyal werewolves, the luring and secretive faeries, the pure and holy angels, the adaptable and multi-faced humans and lastly the vicious and scheming vampires.

This tale stem from a legend spoken mostly in the human town of Rallett; a big town that spreads in a mountain valley under a big dark abandoned castle that looms over it from the side of mount Blade.

The legend says that the first vampire ever created was named Adelcot, but he became more known as the lord of the blades.

The blades in question were twelve vampires created after him, each ruled over sixteen-thousands minions in the lands of darkness Adelcot ruled over.

He was a boastful man, to the point it was murmured that he wanted to mirror the creation of the higher gods with his little charade.

He ruled with an iron fist, yet he was a somewhat fair ruler if one didn't dare to challenge him.

The town of Rallet flourished under his castle as the people understood how to cope whit his whims and all was good, for a while.

As any other lord Adelcot required a tribute from his human subject, but it was not gold he asked but human lives.

Many tales were spun around this tradition, same stated that the Lord asked for wives for his fellow vampires, others that they were only food, and others stated they were used to entertain the cruel and annoyed immortal lord.

The legend continues by stating that one fateful day the demon lord came to Lespenia, and was even more cruel and powerful than him.

Some races fell to the lure of the demon lord, others split, and others fiercely fought against such an impossible foe.

When the hero rose from the human race and the battle was overturned Adelcot's old castle fell silent and Adelcot himself was never seen again.

The vampire race as a whole appeared to disappear with him, and so there was peace for the former domains of Adelcot.

Yet from time to time people with weird clothes and languages came from the castle, some bringing great achievements and knowledge, others great ruin.

The tale ended by narrating how those who tried to go to the castle to discover what was happening were never seen again.
