Chapter 15 - The student president

Just as I carried on my discussion with Li Min, a student came to us furtively. He dyed his short hair with aggressive yellow color and wore a black turtle neck shirt with blue trousers. From his appearance, anyone could tell at a glance: he was haughty and didn't put anyone in his eyes. At the same time, something about his environmental familiarity was peculiar, much to my surprise. Perhaps, he was a senior. This result wasn't particularly impossible to guess, but I was oblivious to my environment and had succeeded in gaining only a meager connection. However, the way this person looked at the Li Min that sat with me was different. Not just out of respect but possessive, thoughtfully saying she was his life goal. Anyway, this result was interesting, but I'd rather stay out of it. After all, I've never been concerned with things as baseless as love. If I could torture the person to submission, that was good enough.

Just as he approached us, he bowed to Li Min and shot me a baleful glare—it was ominous and full of hate. However, I couldn't be bothered by such meaningless tirade, not to talk of expanding my energy on such attrition. But in fact, I couldn't understand why his pain and unease made him look sweet to me. Looking at him reminded me of a homeless rabbit scurrying away from brutal hunters. However, after his icy gaze, he broke out with an amused expression as though I wasn't worth considering. Perhaps, he thought that Li Min deemed me only as one of her servants. Naturally, If people could see me as an unworthy piece of lout, I guess there wouldn't be any worth contending with me.

"Lin Gen, what do you want?" Li Min spoke without turning her gaze on Ling Gen, seemingly uninterested in the student.

Lin Gen was the student president of Suzhou senior high school, and even though he was arrogant, he was still an accomplished student. He was in third-year class B. Anyone would be fortunate to suck up to him, but Li Min was different. For some reason, people want to lick her feet instead. Of course, this student president was also among these people. This person may hold considerable power, but somehow, he seemed so weak and behaved in front of Li Min, not contrary to my belief. After all, This Li Min was fundamentally different from every other student and could somewhat be considered a treasure. It was only natural to rid his arrogance.

So Lin Gen stood as if waiting. No, he was definitely waiting to be invited by Li Min. Even to the other student seated in the mystery garden, this situation didn't seem to alarm them, much to my disbelief. Perhaps, they all know this result. It was as though the seat and table that Li Min and I sat was the seat of gods. So, he smiled coldly with his demon eyes fixed on me. Perhaps, this person must be thinking about strange things—how I was able to sit with this lady and be at ease while he couldn't. The president could only force a sweet smile on Li Min. After all, what else could he do? "The principal asked me to call you, My lady." His voice was gentle as the breeze, almost harmless.

Li Min turned her gaze on Lin Gen and snorted with disapproval. "You shouldn't use that choice of word around me again. Here, I am a student and nothing more. Calling my name like every other student would be better."

"Yes! I understand." Lin Gen replied respectfully.

'There was no reason to be too respectful, right? No one should place so much value on this particular person. No matter who the person was.' No matter how I think of it, I felt too exaggerated, but I did not want to dwell on this problem for long. However, the problem was something else. Lin Gen knew more about Li Min. It was more than the superficial knowledge others had about her. Naturally, it wasn't my headache, so I got up and bade farewell to them. 'Even if he had a mountain of hatred for me, there was no need to rip off with him now. He might be valuable in the future. Probably I can help him get closer to Li Min. I was sure he would call me daddy if I did such benevolence for him.' I began to overreach my ability.

As I was about to move, Li Min called me back. "Today, we just exchanged feedback, but our real business starts this summer break. After all, I didn't go through all this trouble to bring you out of your punishment." Li Min hummed without any expression as she stood up and moved out with Lin Gen. I continued my journey towards my dormitory. She made it sound like I asked her for help. What a show-off beast.

The next day, I got a call from Toa Fen to visit the library. She said she wanted me around as a form of assurance. Although, I had told her that I would not serve as her thug whatsoever. However, she had decided to be persistent as a wine fly. As I walked into the library, it was conducive to reading because it carried an alarming percentage of tranquility. I quickly sighted my target, Toa Fen. She sat with her friend close to Fu Wei, and it was easy to notice that she came prepared to provoke them.

Fu Wei and Xiu Ying had teamed up to crack the ignorance of the three Heng Da. However, both of them were sweating as though on a brutal battlefield. I wondered what exactly they did. Was this exercise still labeled as education? I really couldn't fathom what their game was, but I wasn't about to be bothered by it either way. Even if the air conditioner puffed out cold air, generously cooling the library, those louts still behaved strangely. Considering the appearance of Fu Wei and Xiu Ying, any detailed onlooker could notice their frustration from a thousand miles. Also, they seemed to have run out of other alternatives to teaching Heng Da and his friends. Heng Da and his friends looked solemn—it was as if trying to figure out what the class leaders were doing. Much to their panic, they had discovered they understood nothing and struggled in vain.
