She stood there soaked in blood. Relishing the taste of human flesh.
Finally a good meal. It would have been better if I got the chance to eat that other kid out. I'm sure he would have tasted sweet.
"Look at the mess you have made!" A familiar voice spoke out. "Who will clean this up?"
"Come on Mr. White don't be so annoyed. You can handle this much right?"
"I could but this isn't near my bar anymore. You have made my job even more difficult." Saying that the man started to pick up the bones and the remaining flesh of the dead human.
"I don't want to see you around this area for a month. Don't come back here looking for more humans to kill. It's still classified as murder you know-" he stopped as something caught his eye. He caught a glimpse at the dead man's wallet.
"Wait a second. This isn't the same guy you were talking to in the bar. Who is he?" Mr. White asked her.
"He is just a random guy. He walked along and I managed to get him-" Kaitlyn stopped as she felt a sudden menacing aura around Mr. White.
"What happened to the guy you were chatting with in the bar? You were going to eat him right? Or did you change your mind?"
"I-I didn't change my mind. I was going to but his friends were looking at us. To not make the situation messy, I left as soon as he turned around. Don't worry, nobody saw me getting away."
"But you were going to eat him. Tell me you didn't accidentally turn him into one of those brainless mutants."
Kaitlyn could barely remember the fine details of that moment.
Did I turn him? I did bite him but I don't think it was that deep. He shouldn't turn into one.
She remembered that she had been quiet for some time now and knew that she had to answer or she would be in some big trouble.
"I didn't. I am not as incompetent as you think."
"Are you sure about that?" Mr. White asked.
"Yes, I'm pretty sure."
"Good. And I know you will never lie to me." Saying that Mr. White gave Kaitlyn a strong gaze."You know what happened to the last guy who made that mistake and lied to me. Right Kaitlyn."
The pressure exerted by Mr. White was palpable, and all of it was directed towards her. It took everything from Kaitlyn to stand her ground. Even though she was a noble descendent she couldn't go against Mr. White. He has been in this business for a long time, hence he has seen almost everything there is to see. Every cell in her body was terrified. She felt like running away at that moment but she knew that she couldn't do that. She couldn't yield to him that easily.
"Yes, I remember. Are we done here? I'm not feeling too well. I want to go back to my home."
Mr. White chuckled a little.
"It's getting late anyways. Go home and rest up. And one more thing. Did this guy have any friends with him that saw you?"
"Yes he had two friends."
"Couldn't you have selected a guy who was alone."
"Lonely guys don't taste that good. Don't worry you will be reimbursed for your work"
"Fine. I will clean this up. Don't forget to change your clothes before you leave. They are behind that dumpster."
"Thank you."
Kaitlyn changed her clothes behind the dumpster and ran out of the alley and back to her apartment. Mr. White quickly cleaned up the body parts and bones and put them in a bag. He then walked over to the dumpster and threw the body parts and the bloody clothes of the girl into it. He reached in his pockets and took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He lit his cigarette. He picked up the gas can nearby and emptied the whole can into the dumpster. He stood there for a while enjoying his smoke. He took a big swig and then threw the smoldering cigarette into the dumpster.
It lit up. The dumpster burned with a brilliant light, but even that light wasn't able to leave that alley. People walked by in the road outside, no one paying a second thought to the events that took place in that alley. Mr. White stood there for a while before walking away.
The fire lit the alley and he could see the walls of the buildings that surrounded it. The brick walls that were covered with posters were now covered with blood. But that wasn't the thing that caught Mr. Whites eyes. He walked over to the wall and cleaned off some of the blood to reveal a poster.
'What's this? A new restaurant is opening nearby. I might take my wife there. It will be a good night.' he thought.
He walked away after taking the details down on his little notepad. The sounds of his footsteps grew weaker and weaker which were followed by a loud thud of the backdoor of the bar. The alley was once again thrown into silence.
