Both of them left Akatsuki's apartment and started walking towards the station. It was a little past 6.
"But if I go to your house right now, wouldn't it be awkward?" Momoko asked.
"No. I'll handle it." Mizuki said.
They were walking to the station when they came across both of them again.
Akatsuki and Zeus were walking. But Akatsuki looked a bit tipsy.
Like he was drunk or something. Zeus was supporting him.
They went to the nearest park and sat on the bench.
They were curious so they eavesdropped on their conversation once again.
"You shouldn't drink more." Zeus was telling Akatsuki to stop drinking.
"Don't...…worryyyyy." He couldn't even say a thing properly.
"See. You are weak to alcohol." Zeus sighed.
"Who said I was weak." The next moment he was sober. Like he wasn't drunk at all.
"So what was before?" Zeus asked.
"I increased my metabolism to burn the alcohol." He said.
"You truly have surpassed humans." Zeus was shocked and annoyed at the same time.
"It's nothing." Akatsuki shook his head.
"Akatsuki, this time around you will have a proper world. Not like that incomplete world of your delusions." Zeus said.
"Yeah. I know. So I am still telling you that you should choose another person." He said.
"No can do. It's gotta be you." He said.
"Huh. Such a bother. I just wanna be a mob character. Why the protagonist role?" He asked it once again.
"You are the perfect protagonist. You are better than them. The really good looking but good for nothing ones." Zeus sighed.
"I know. But being the protagonist is not my forte. I can at most be a supporting character." He said.
"Let me ask, why do you hate the role of protagonist?" (Z)
"You know, when I was a kid, I wanted recognition. From my mother. She never praised me. So I wanted praise. I worked hard. So she would praise me. But that went wrong. In a lot of ways. Then I thought what good it is to be the protagonist. Your life would be full of troubles. So I wanted to be a mob character. They don't play any active role and lead their lives peacefully." Akatsuki gave a speech about his life.
"I understand. I have been watching you since your birth. So I know how you felt." Zeus condoned him.
"But look. You are giving me the role of Chaos. The creator, right?" He asked.
"Yeah." (Z)
"Ok. So how about this. I save the world and then vanish. It's not like chaos is needed. So I will vanish after dealing with Lucifer. You can be the god king. And those two won't have to get involved." He said.
"No. I feel like dying after hearing that. Tell me, do you hate your sister?" He asked.
"Yes. I hate her. She is the perfect person one could ask for. I have hated her. She is a perfect superhuman. Good looks, good grades, athletic and a good personality. Isn't she perfect? But she is someone I take pride in. My perfect little sister. So I will protect her from harm." He said.
"Hey Akatsuki, you should let off some steam you know?" Zeus said to him.
His tone indicated that he was worried about him but it also had some hidden intentions behind.
"Maybe. But I wanna break stuff." Akatsuki said.
"Break! Then I will send you to a place where you can break all the stuff you want. So will you go?" He asked.
"I should. But be prepared to heal me. I might just remove the limiter." He said.
"Don't worry. Just go. It's poisonous to keep that much. Let it out. 19 years worth of resentment. Go."
Zeus said and Akatsuki vanished from there.
After that Zeus turned to the bush which was beside him.
"Come out now. It won't do any good for you to hide." He said.
He was calling Mizuki and Momoko out.
Both of them came out. But their eyes were serious. Like they are facing the last boss of a novel.
"Don't give me the scary look. I am just doing what is good for my son." Zeus casually said.
"What?" Both of them shouted.
"Yes. He is my son. But I didn't tell him that." Zeus said.
"Your son? So he isn't really my brother." Mizuki asked to confirm it.
"I say my son but mainly because of his soul." (Z)
"His soul? Was he not born from you?" Momoko said.
"No. His birth is kinda tragic. It's painful for me to say it. But he knows all about it except for the mystery behind his soul." He said.
"We want to know everything. It's just that you two have been talking about all those things that we didn't understand." Momoko asked.
Mizuki also said the same thing. Zeus understood their request.
"So do you wanna know who he is?" (Z)
"Yes." They said.
"It all began 21 years ago. The government started a project. It was to create a superhuman. The scientists researched for two years and 19 years ago a child was born. Not born but made. Through special tissue culture and implants a baby was created. However that baby was incomplete. It lacked basic human instincts and reproductive organs. So after a year the government dropped the project. And the baby was disposed off." Zeus stopped.
But Mizuki and Momoko had unbelievable looks. They couldn't believe what they heard.
"As you two are guessing, Akatsuki is that child. Zeus said.
"..." A moment of silence flowed as both of them said nothing.
"So he is a created human?" The first one to speak was Momoko.
"Yes. But that didn't end there. I said disposed off right? That means he should be dead. So how is he still alive?" He asked that question.
But both of them were silent.
"Because someone didn't want to kill him and took pity on him. So he was left at your fathers doorsteps, Mizuki." Zeus said.
"My father?" Mizuki said it in a trembling voice.
"Yes. He wasn't married then. He took him in and tried to raise him. But he couldn't. So he married your mother. But your mother, do you know what does she do?" He asked.
"No. She is a housewife." Mizuki said.
"No. That was because she quit her job. But your mother is actually a scientist. She was a member of the team that created him. So when she found that out she was angry. She thought that she got rid of him. But no. There he was again in her life." He said.
"My mother is a scientist. And she created my brother." Mizuki is all the more shocked.
But Momoko was not. She was listening very carefully.
"Yes. So that's how it began." Zeus finished.
"But how is he your son?" Momoko asked.
"I said that he lacked human instincts right? That was because he didn't have a soul. So I gave him one. That's how he is my son." Zeus answered her question.
The conversation stopped for a moment. Zeus gave them time to process it and accept it.
Momoko seemed to have already done it. But Mizuki was having a hard time.
"Don't worry girl. I will tell you even more. Do you want to know why he became a slacker like that? Wasn't he a star student in elementary school?" He said.
Mizuki nodded in affirmation.
"Because he found out the secrets behind his birth and he discovered his abilities. So he quit putting efforts in striving to become a good man." Zeus gave a simple answer.
But that was more than enough.
A kid who found out that he was nothing more than a puppet will lose his will too.
"Now let me ask you this, have you ever thought that why he did that?" Zeus asked.
"What?" Momoko asked.
"When he took the blame of trying to rape you?" (Z)
"I don't know. He never answered me." (Mo)
"That day, he saw what was happening. Anger was raging like a storm in his mind. But then he calmed down and thought that it was a good opportunity." (Z)
"Opportunity?" (Mo)
"Yes. He has to make everyone hate him. So he did what he did and took the blame. That way everyone despised him and would ignore him. He calculated it and acted." Zeus said.
"So from the very beginning, he was planning to do something like that." Momoko slumped.
"And what about me?" Mizuki asked.
"Well he kept protecting you. As you are his pride and joy. But now he can't anymore. He will go to that world to take care of Lucifer." Zeus said.
"But wait. Didn't you say that he was born without reproductive organs?" Mizuki asked.
"Yes. He lacks what he needs to make a baby. Thus he is neither male nor female. He has no definite gender." Zeus chuckled.
"What?" Now they completely received the shock.
"Yes. So he can't do the nasty stuff." He said with a smile.
"I don't know what to say about that?" Momoko was just bewildered. As she blushed.
Mizuki was also red from embarrassment.
"Ok. But I guess I should bring him back because I have received a few SOS signals already." (Z)
"SOS? From whom?" Momoko worriedly asked.
"No. He is fine. No. He is not. He is now wreaking havoc on the gods. So I should really save them otherwise they'll die." Zeus said.
This time he wasn't joking. Both of them understood it.
"So we'll be going. It's getting late. Let's go Momoko." Mizuki said and they bade farewell to Zeus.
"Take care. See you next time." Zeus said and he disappeared too.
While walking they talked.
"So many things to consider. What the hell was going on behind our backs?" Momoko grumbled.
"Yes. But we have to be careful. We can't trust that Zeus guy either." Mizuki was cautious.
"Yes. But for now let's go home. I am staying at your place remember?" Momoko said.
"Yes. Let's go." They went home from there.
