Chapter 11 - 1.05.2 Ok, I guess?

"I understand your reasoning behind it. But giving away that weird weapon back to him. I still feel it will be very useful to us. And we can use it better than him anyway." Kale said, knowing how crudely Girium had used the spear.

Sometimes like a hammer and sometimes like a giant stick.

And from what they had learned from the village kids.

This man used that weapon to catch fish as well.

He treated a weapon capable of harming God Construct so crudely that it was almost laughable.

But it was not their boss that replied, it was Risa who had been following Kale's suggestion before and came close to poisoning Girium.

"I support the Boss on this decision. The mental state of that man is a bit too weird, there is no way for a man with some mentality to come into possession of a weapon like that."

"There is a high chance, that weapon changed his mentality, till it turned one track." She explained her reasoning on the side.

The coincidence for a weapon capable of destroying God's Construct to fall into the hands of someone whose whole life's meaning is to destroy them. This was too much of a coincidence.

Hence, that black spear scared her.

Risa didn't even dare to pick it up for fear of getting possessed.

"You believe that rumor? Seriously, Risa, I expected more than you."

"Guys, can we please just focus on the topic…"

"Shut up Zig. It's all your fault for bringing him here." Kale retorted, annoyed by everyone in the room, even his boss.

"I am saying this again, boss. That man is ill in his head. Giving that spear back to him will only cause him to attack you once again."

This was the true reason he was against it.

Since learning the capabilities of that spear, he had been ecstatic but also horrified.

If the word was to go out that a weapon like this exists, everyone in the world would wish to destroy it.

Even those Lord Gods who stand at the top of the world.

Hence the reason he wished to seal this spear in their armory. Only to be taken out by a strong enemy.

But Sia didn't budge at these words.

And instead asked Kale.

"That man dropped the spear the moment he knew that he couldn't use it as a weapon for combat." She said, recalling the details of the battle.

The man never treated the spear like something precious. To him, it was always a piece of junk. And its bad craft goes to show that it truly was.

"And did you know, the most damage my gloves sustained was when he was holding on to them, trying to crush them while he was getting dragged toward the black hole?" She continued giving out details that made the other three on the table of what she meant.

"You mean to say…" Kale asked.

"Yes, it's not the spear. It never was. It was always that man." She continued.

"That spear is just a catalyst of his power. His body probably holds a powerful God Construct of parasitic nature. Which would explain his inhuman strength and why we can't sense any artifact on his person." She gave her reasoning.

Earlier, many thought that she only wished to use Girium as a holder for that dangerous spear.

Or she intended for the man to join her group due to her eccentricities.

But they never thought there was some other reason as well.

"There is also one thing that you got wrong. That man is not crazy as you are expecting."Sia continued her assessment of the man named Girium.

"But do you truly think you can control him?" Kale asked.

"Even if his skills are useful and he is strong. But against holders of God Constructs, he is nothing."

"Boss, if you had gotten serious from the start, he wouldn't have survived a single second against you." Kale kept talking. But the force in his voice was weaker than before.

He was just doing the job of the opposition.

"Enough Kale… I will do the fight. All that man has to do is fulfill his own goal." Sia explained, his voice carrying the hint that she won't listen anymore.

"Yes… Boss!"

Sia can feel the frustration that her men felt.

The man she intended to take into her group was too weird and dangerous.

He was not even too keen on talking.

All that man desires seems to be only one thing and it is to destroy God's Construct. Which meant that none of his earlier claims was a lie.

"Risa, about his background. Did you find anything?" Sia asked.

This question has been asked every day for the last month. But Sia was sad to learn that no details of his identity had been found.

"No boss, that man is too good it seems. All I could find was CCTV footage of him leaving the train station a year ago. And that's it."

This was the footage found by them on the fourth day after the fight. The same footage that had been the only proof that Girium came from somewhere else.

"The children from that village did mention that he was a vagrant. So there might be some truth to that. A man living outside of society." Zig explained. He had heard about people like these.

People who go into the mountains to train for years and come back to a world that has left them in the dust.

This might be who Girium was.

A nomad forgot by time and the world.

Only coming down to fulfill the one thing he had been training for all this time.

"Stop reading so many novels, Zig, you are grown up now." Kale retorted before going back to the topic at hand.

"I ran his blood and finger through multiple databases. And found nothing in the end. Not even any relatives. He is a ghost." This was the reason why Kale was more worried.

Not having any registry in the database can only mean two things.

One, the man was either from a hidden tribe.

And two, the man worked for "them" and hence had his whole information removed to not get linked to them.

These were the common tactics of those people.

But before he could voice out his thoughts, the phone in the middle of the table rang.

And Sia picked it up.

"Oh, he is awake at last?"

*****

"What do you want?" Girium knows he has fallen into a trap.

He should have left the moment he got his bearings back.

Now it was all too late.

And it truly was, because the one to reply to him was not Teerath. But a voice he had heard before.

"Join me." She said and this time it was not a request but an order. As for what she was basing her force with?

Guilt.

Girium owed her.

If she had taken Girium's spear and let him go, then she had no right to order him like this.

But that spear did not act as Girium's crutch, meaning it was still in his hands.

Hence he owed her.

"No… I will pay it another way." But he was no fool.

Nor was he ignorant of the world. He knew his value more than anyone can ever imagine and he knows how his abilities in the wrong hands might be used.

As for destroying the God Construct of Sia, he wanted to do it. But he knew that he was not capable of it.

Besides, she had shown him enough mercy by leaving him alone.

And this mercy became Girium's weakness.

"What can a vagrant like you even do? Pay us with money?" Sia mocked, getting closer to Girium as she did. "A fool like you will probably try to fight another artifact user and that person might not be as merciful as me." Her voice carried almost a hypnotic tone.

A fact that he didn't like.

He knows a person just like Sia, who used her hypnotic voice to change the ways of others.

"I will find a way." Girium was adamant about his choice.

He doesn't wish to fight for others. The strength he gained was never for others, it was always for him.

His dream.

His goal.

It's what helped him get stronger.

"Hah, a mad man who knows nothing better." Sia was getting frustrated at this man who treated her like empty air even after getting his ass beaten by her.

But she knew that there was a way to retain this man's attention. A way to bind her to him. "Don't you wish to destroy lots of God Constructs?... I can help you with that."

At those words, for the first time, Girium turned his head to her. His eyes were shining with bright light.

But as soon as his eyes shined, he tried to hide it. But this small moment of life was still noticed by Sia.

"Hmm…" This was his way of saying "Carry on". He wished to listen to the proposal that Sia wanted to make with him.

"How about this? At this point, you should know that you are no opponent of an artifact holder."

Of course, Girium knew this. A woman not even mentioned in the list of strongest was able to beat him to this extent. So how bad would those that were mentioned be?

"In the future battles, I will help you hold back other artifact holders while you destroy their God Construct… how about that?" She said, pretty sure that Girium who had a one-track mind would accept the offer.

And Girium, who had already learned his limits. Slowly nodded.

"Ok." Is all he said.

Nothing more was needed.

Then he plopped down on his bed while throwing his spear to the side.

"Can you call the doctors back?" He asked, pointing at his bleeding legs.

"Of course, I will," Sia said, pretty intrigued by the giant man's action.
