A victorious smile was plastered on Alex's face as he turned on the ignition and they set out for Sophia's school.
"Van, are you still looking for a dress to buy? Are you going to a party?" Sophia suddenly asked when she saw Vanessa keenly scrolling through her phone. Vanessa had been doing the same last night when she walked into the bedroom before offering to massage her.
Alex turned towards Vanessa, and he saw her glaring at Sophia.
"What? I thought you were looking for—"
"No, I'm not." She abruptly cut her off, before glancing at Alex who had his gaze on the road like he hadn't heard them, but she could see the amusement on his face.
