Unlike the previous day, Vanessa and the agent were able to cover quite a number of apartments, thanks to Alex's absence. Even though neither of them talked about it, they were both glad that he wasn't with them.
It had taken a lot of apologies from Vanessa to convince the agent to take her around today, since he had insisted that he didn't want Alex's troubles.
As Vanessa looked around the last apartment the agent was showing her for the day, she felt convinced that this was the right place for her and Sophia.
Although the place was tiny and would require a fresh coat of painting on the walls, and probably some repairs, it was in decent neighborhood and the rent was something she could afford.
Or maybe she was willing to settlt for this place because she felt like she had run out of other options and she really needed to find a place and move out of Alex's apartment as soon as possible after what had happened between them the previous night.
