Alex's lips slightly curved as quick flashes of Vanessa's countenance all through their little dog rescue mission went through his mind. He could vividly remember the way her eyes had lit up and her lips curved into smiles as she cradled and spoke to the dog.
If he wasn't sure of his sanity, he'd had ruled those moments as figments of his imagination, because for the first time since he met her at the lobby of his company with tense shoulders and raging eyes, he had seen her smile. He had thought she was incapable of that gesture, but she had proved him wrong.
And must he add she did smile nicely?

From her temper, to her pride, to the way her eyes hardened when she said more in her head than than her lips ever lets out, and now to the way she smiled?
