Ivory stopped her smile. This time a worried look filled her beautiful face. She didn't expect Aaron to suggest that.
"Aar, I could be killed if I don't hand this child over to the Higher-ups. Maybe the punishment of the Primary won't put your life in danger, but—"
"That's why we're planning from now on, Ivy," Aaron cut in. "We still have nine months before the little one is born. I won't let them kill you."
"Then how? Do you want to run away with me? I'm sure running away isn't the right choice since you … have family ... and a fiancé." Ivory felt her eyes suddenly heat up. The tightness in her chest reappeared as she remembered Joy.
"How about moving abroad?" Aaron mumbled. "Fleeing overseas for a while seems promising."
Ivory shook her head slowly. "Aar, I don't think everyone can go abroad easily. Even for the Primary," she said. "My master's son, Roger, once said that."
