Chapter 7 - Siscon?

Thomas is finally alone. He can finally rest easy, knowing he won't see anyone that could disturb him, regaining his long-lost memories. But before that, long deserved rest. Maybe he should read a book? Or browse the internet. Yeah, that thing is great. Anything that your brain can think of can be found. It has mountains of content. Some better, some worse. However,

"Thomas!" He hears the girl screaming from the hallway.

"Another nuisance came home" Monica comes rushing into his room. However, Thomas had locked the door the moment Johnson left.

'Did no one explain the situation to her? Why can't she be a good little sister and leave me the fuck alone?' Thomas keeps cursing internally. However, Monica keeps knocking on the doors.

"Thomas, please open the door!" Thomas finally lost his patience and opened the door.

He looked at her blonde hair, blue eyes, and a short girl. If she had reminded him of Charlotte, he would have been intrigued by having such a cute little sister. However, there was no similarity. Her shaking hands also didn't help. He had no sympathy for this scared little girl.

"Thomas. What happened? Those men only tell me that our family is in the infirmary! Was here a burglar?" she looked at Thomas with worried eyes.

"Chill, no one robbed us." And then Thomas remembered something. "Go back to your room, do your thing; I'll do mine. Okay?" Thomas says the exact words she once told him when he asked for her to speak with Arthur to stop bullying him.

"This is not the time for jokes. What is wrong with you?" Monica almost cries. "Tell me what happened, please!"

"Alright, alright. Stop whining." Thomas was irritated. "I told them how great the hospital was, so they decided to check it themselves. Now piss off, brat."

He pushed her from the room and shut the doors again. Monica was perplexed. How can her brother be so heartless? The whole family is hospitalized, and he is watching funny animal videos on the internet.

'Is this a natural face of Thomas?' She often ignored him, so she knew nothing about his personality. He only once tried to talk to her, but she pushed him away. After that, he never tried to reach out to her again.

She feels that this was not her fault. Mom prohibited her from interacting with him.

'I couldn't disobey mother, could I? Or maybe, his personality was the real reason for all hate he got from family.'

Since Thomas is not talking to her, she should return to her room and rest. Tomorrow she will leave school early and go to visit them. Yet, after realizing one thing, she was startled.

"Mother did not leave anything to eat. All shops are closed already!" she couldn't go earlier because Thomas kept ignoring her. She does not know how to cook because her mother always encouraged her to ignore small stuff like cooking and focus on her studies.

'Thomas used to cook for himself, with products he bought from his allowance. Maybe he can help me out?'

"Thomas…" She gently knocked at the door. She was as red as a tomato due to embarrassment. "Could you maybe… food?"

"FUCK OFF!" He screamed and threw something at the door.

"Kyaaa!" she jumped out of surprise after hearing glass breaking. "Fine! humpf" and then went back to her room.

"What's wrong with that girl." Thomas thought. "Can't even make dinner for herself. You can blame our trash of a mother for spoiling you so much.

[Don't forget, tomorrow you have to go to the town hall for a magic power evaluation first thing in the morning]

"Such nuisance… I'd rather sleep till midday."

Thomas turns off his computer and finally goes to bed. He needs to wake up early, yet, he takes out the phone and browses the internet for hours. And after he put his phone away and closed his eyes.

He heard a notification sound from the System.

[System requires action]

"Shut it. I am going to sleep" Thomas sets his alarm for 9 am. and goes to sleep. He begins dreaming of a black-haired girl. About the age of 16. Pretty face, tiny figure. The girl tied her hair in the back with a white ribbon. She wore leather armor that wouldn't disturb her movements. She was training with a sword.

"a holy knight," he thinks to himself while watching her blessing herself before attacking a dummy. Her skill with magic is beautiful. However, movement with the sword was clumsy. She hits the figure; it disappears and reappears in another place. She charges at it, and after impact, it disappears again. Drops of sweat poured from her face as she moved excessively. She finally stops to rest. At this moment, a ringing alarm clock wakes him up.

"Fuck. FUCK. FUCK!!!"

Thomas still feels tired due to him browsing the internet till 3 am. He takes the alarm clock but doesn't turn it off. He stays in bed while holding the alarm clock in his arm. Thomas was not a morning person. He woke up angry; now he is annoyed. Ten minutes later, Thomas finally gets up and does his daily routine. He went to shower, brushed his teeth, and dressed up. Then he went to the kitchen. Monica was long gone. School starts at 8 am. so she won't be bothering him in the morning.

"Can't wait to see her reaction after she'll find out I was the one who sent those idiots to the hospital, hehe~" Thomas chuckled.

However, Thomas saw something on the table that blew his mind. There were two sandwiches and a note with his name on it.

"Huh? Is this house haunted?" He did not expect Monica to go out of her way and make breakfast. "What an idiot. Seriously, what is wrong with her" he keeps talking to himself. However, her action still put a smile on his face.

"Tastes okay, better than nothing, I suppose," he thinks.

[Siscon]

'Oh, shut the **** up.'

[Aren't you forgetting something? You should be at the town hall at 10 am. You're going to be late]

'Fine, fine. I am going already.'

He leaves the house, and this is the first time he is out in the town after his memories were split during his eighteenth birthday. It is so bright that his eyes hurt.

"Tsk. Annoying."

He slowly walked the street and saw Clara and her parents. They were out shopping. He saw her dad carrying a cake. Ahh, yes. It's her birthday on September 18th. So tomorrow.

She notices him and wants to say "Hi." however, she already knows he blames her for everything due to his actions at the hospital, so she decides against it. On the other hand, her dad calls out for Thomas, but he pretends not to hear it. Her parents didn't think anything about it due to him wearing headphones.

"Clara, go meet up with him today and invite him to our house. I haven't seen Thomas in ages now!" Her father told her with a bright smile on his face.

"Huh?" Clara is surprised.

"I should make some spicy food he loves so much," her mother also adds.

Mark Willson is Jeremy's brother. He and his wife loved Thomas just as much as they loved Clara.

"Clara, help me prepare some food for the party, okay?"

Whenever Thomas ran away from home, Thomas always went to their place and stayed for a few days. However, Thomas never complained about the abuse in his household even though Mark worked as a high-ranking police officer. He knew that nothing would change, his parents would only get a slap on the wrist, and Thomas's life would worsen.

"Okay... I will."

Clara didn't tell her parents that she was no longer friends with Thomas. She knows that they will get angry, especially if she allows him to be bullied.

"I will try..."

Even if she wants to fix their relationship, she does not know how to. Clara is not stupid, and she knows that Thomas hates her.

"What should I do…" she thought to herself. "Dad will kill me."

*The Holy kingdom*

Meanwhile, Elizabeth exits the hospital after a few weeks of being hospitalized. Yet, not a single family member comes to meet her and take her home. Instead, Jeremy waits for her right in front of the gates, waving at her.

"Elizabeth, congrats on being charged out!"

"Thank you so much for all your help. I appreciate it, mister Willson."

"Do not worry about it, Elizabeth, you know what? I was driving around the city due to work, and now I am famished. Shall we go to grab some food before we go home?"

The adoption went smoothly, and Jeremy was now her legal guardian. He told her to call him by his first name many times, yet she still felt awkward. Jeremy decided not to push and just let her get comfortable.

"Yes. I am quite hungry." Elizabeth smiles, knowing she is finally going to live a decent life.
