"What do you mean?" Dan asked her.
"What do you think? The people love the second prince. Even if the majority of his success secretly comes from our ideas he is the one who has turned them into a reality. If the kingdom were to just give away the people's greatest savior, it's likely there would be civil unrest if not a revolt!"
"But what about all the rummers about him?"
"You mean that he's some excentric shut-in or that he practices dark magic and speaks to the dead?"
"Well, yeah…there are others too... ones that are more accurate like that he's awkward, clumsy, bad with a sword despite being set to inherit command of the army, unliked by all of the nobility, and a devious slimy half-breed with no respect for authority or tradition," he added bitterly.
