Alexis' POV
The bright rays of sunlight streaming through the window danced across my closed eyes, and I groaned, rolling towards the end of the bed where the light couldn't reach me. I'd been awake for a few minutes, but I refused to open my eyes as all I wanted was to sink into the peaceful sleep my medications afforded me. Again, I recalled all that had happened last night, after I woke up from my nightmare and wasn't ready to face Quinn yet.
He'd treated me with so much love last night even after seeing me at my worst, but I wouldn't let that pull me away from reality. It'd be wishful thinking to believe it'd always be like that. I mean, my ex-boyfriend, Ted, was once like that. He'd been nice, always cuddled me through the nights after my nightmares, and always talked me into sleep with sweet words. But he hadn't thought twice before mocking me after he felt he'd had enough.
