Alexis' POV
I kept staring at the picture, unable to take my eyes off it. My heart was palpitating hard against my chest, as though I was on the verge of a heart attack. The more I stared at the framed picture, the more I saw different images of that man flicking through my memory as though they were arising from my nightmares to haunt me. Those hazel eyes looked as if they were mocking me with the perfect smile etched on his face. I felt a chill run down my spine, goosebumps suddenly breaking out of my skin as I kept on staring at the picture. Somewhere in my head, my subconscious was screaming at me to look away, or even close my eyes to shut off the image but it felt as though I was no longer in control of myself.
