There are only 2 possibilities: either he killed a high level monster or completed a high rank quest. The chances of the former are low so it's most likely later. He might be a professional gamer from another game and his level was low only because he was busy with quests. But it's just speculation. Without proper information we can't say anything for sure."
"Interesting he suddenly jumped up the ladder and sat on the throne with just one quest?! Hahaha." Iwan Angevin started laughing.
The person they were referring to was obviously Louis McKay or to be precise Mr.Necromancer. His sudden jump to rank 1 obviously got attention from many professional gamers and rankers. While he was still unbeknownst to it.
Iwan Angevin told the butler, "Drive faster. I want to play the game now!" He should be in grief of losing his 1st position but for some reason he was more excited than being sad. Iwan has dominated the whole global server all the time since the release of the first day. Everyone thought he would dominate this game. But in his heart Iwan knew that it was only the first day. There will be many professional gamers who will emerge eventually. And it will only increase the more time passes and competitions will be more intense. So he didn't mind someone surpassing him. If he was scared of someone surpassing him how would he surpass everyone else?

Inside Xena company headquarters a woman in black suit was reporting to her higher ups about the incident of Louis. Higher ups started discussing it among themselves.
Someone spoke up, "This is really a problem. Even though we wanted the Into the metaverse to be like another world. If we didn't put some restrictions it might cause problems like this to occur more in the future. If we let them hire high level mercenaries it might become a game of money and people might condemn it as pay to win games."
Someone else also said, "Yeah it might cause some trouble."
Chairman heard everyone's thoughts and made a decision, "Restrict players from hiring bot mercenaries which are higher level than the top 100 player rank. Inspire players to become mercenaries and so that they hire player mercenaries more. That way it will be more fair and people won't complain to us."
Many other higher ups nodded and agreed on this and the matter was settled.
Meanwhile Louis was excited after getting his necromancer class even making future plans. Even if he was not very familiar with other classes he was the most familiar with the necromancer class. He still has some debt that he has to pay. Now that he has the necromancer class, if he works properly he will be able to clear that debt.
While Louis was lost in his thoughts the high priest was looking at him with interest and sizing him up. He suddenly spoke, "Now that you have the power, what do you intend to do?"
Now that Louis got the necromancer class he didn't pay much attention to the high priest. Louis turned around and said, "To have fun!"
Just as he was about to leave a sudden laughter came from behind, "Hahaha, then do you want to have more fun? What if I give you greater power?"
Louis stopped on his track and his eyes lit up. He knew the high priest was trying to initiate some quest. He turned around and followed his previous act, "As long as I get to have fun I will do anything. Guide me O High priest."
High priest nodded pleased with his answer and said, "Kill the traitor Rodney and bring back his body."
