Once everyone had their 3 crystals the teacher, Morgana, started explaining how to use them. As Freya listened to her mother she could see the sullen expression on her face, which was unlike what Morgana usually looked like, seeing this reinforced Freya's belief that she had gone too far with what she had just said.
Freya knew that her mother only wanted to help, but each time she tried to help Freya only felt more isolated.
Druak had watched this interaction and could empathise, as he often had similar problems with his father, the only difference being that his dad would just smack him across the head a few times until he understood what he said or did wrong.
After watching what had happened between Freya and her mother. Druak reminisced about his past interactions with his dad Druak, remembering how annoyed he always was at his dad, but at the same time how much he missed those annoying habits of his dad.
Druak shook his head to get the thought out of his mind and went back to focusing on the class.
'Which crystal should I test first.' Druak looked at all three crystals one which was black the other white and the final one being red. After looking at each of them Druak picked up the white one. "This ones the one I'm most curious about."
Druak had been listening to Morgana who had explained what to do with each of the crystals, to be honest, the process was almost identical for all of the crystals. All that you had to do was pour your mana into the crystal and wait for a result.
Picking up the white crystal Druak began to pour his mana into it.
Bright lights varying in colour began to envelop the entire room as everyone began testing their mana.
Druak looked down at his crystal to see a beautiful cyan colour. However as Druak stared at the crystal he noticed something he hadn't anticipated, a small tint of black, that was barely noticeable, had appeared directly in the centre of the cyan and seemed to be slowly eating away at it.
'How's this possible. Didn't the teacher just say that to change your mana affinity you have to sacrifice thousands of people.' Druak thought about it for a moment and could only come to one conclusion. The Lich had planted something inside of him to prevent him from getting strong enough to retaliate against his actions.
'I have to find a way to stop this before it spreads and makes it impossible for me to train with this class. Maybe that professor from the ball knows something.'
Realising he couldn't do anything till, after his lesson, Druak decided to test his mana core and mana capacity, both of which had declined after Astra fell unconscious and were now at the lesser orange grade. This was better than Druak had expected but was still far behind some of the top in his class, who had already reached a greater orange grade and one individual had even reached the lesser yellow grade.
Once the teacher had jotted all of the student information down the lesson ended early allowing the students to do whatever they wanted and explore the academy and get familiar with the place they would be staying for the next three years.
Normally the academy would have one lesson a day which was normally split into two parts practical and theory, but due to the teachers not knowing what all the student's capabilities were at this moment in time, they would only do theory so they could get ready for the actual lessons.
As Druak was about to leave the classroom the hulk of a man known as Oscar began to stroll straight over to him, resting his arm over Druaks shoulder. "So you got anything interesting planned." Druak paused for a mere second, and before he could respond Oscar had already responded for him. "Guess not. That means you can follow me to the arena."
Dragging Druak along, a giant grin appeared on Oscar's face as he thought. 'Finally someone interesting enough to fight with."
Due to his family status and the way his father was Oscar was rarely able to fight anyone his age, and on the rare occasions when he did they ended up being wimpy and weak nobles that had never had a proper fight. However, unlike all those times Oscar knew Druak wasn't a pushover and knew if he fought with someone like him he would certainly enjoy it.
Oscar's blood was boiling as a rush enveloped his entire being. 'Damn it. I'm already this excited and our fight hasn't even started.'
Druak couldn't help but notice the grin on Oscar's face which went ear to ear, it almost looked as if Oscar was a wild beast and had finally found its prey. A shiver went down Druak's spine just thinking about who the person, which was now Oscar's prey, could be. Not realising he was the very person Oscar was targeting.
As they entered the arena they were greeted by four guards, these guards were equipped with armour and weapons made from 3rd stage monsters.
'Guess this proves this academy isn't just for show, especially if they're able to get this kind of equipment for guards.'
Slowly Druak and Oscar approached the guards, which quickly put their hands out, putting a halt to the two students' movement.
One of the guards stepped forward and reached out his hand. "Student Identifications."
Both Druak and Oscar took turns to show their Identifications, obviously the guards were much more well-mannered to Oscar, showing smiles and even bowing, which contrasted with Druak who only got scoffed at and then ignored.
Druak was beginning to get used to this and gaining a talent for ignoring those types of people.
Looking at Druak Oscar asked. "How can you tolerate those types of people. If it was me I would have already gone for them and got them fired."
Druak looked at Oscar, his face scrunched up in anger, which seemed to surprise Oscar as he took a few steps back.
After a few seconds of looking at Oscar Druak took a breath to calm down."Huff. You don't understand do you."
Oscar tilted his head in confusion. "What do you mean I don't understand."
Druak hesitated for a moment then said. "You're a noble and I'm a commoner. Do you understand now."
Despite Druak almost spelling it out for him Oscar still could understand what Druak was getting at. "No, I'm still confused. Just tell the president how they are treating you and I'm sure it'll be fixed."
Druak couldn't quite hold in his anger and started raising his voice. "You don't get it, do you. The president is the same. Almost all you nobles are. You despise us just for the status of the person we were born from."
It finally clicked for Oscar. He now realised what Druak was trying to say. Realising this Oscar lowered his head. "I'm sorry. I didn't realise. I promise I won't be like the dishonourable nobles that look down on you just because of your status."
A smile grew on Druaks face, lifting his arm up Druak patted Oscar on the shoulder. "I know."
"So you ready for a fight. I know the whole reason you brought me here was to have a match right." Druak reasoned that it would be best to change the topic and shift the conversation toward the arena fights.
Oscar's expression which had been rather depressing quickly turned back into one of excitement, as Oscar was looking forward to having a proper fight with Druak.
A giant grin on his face Oscar said. "Of course I'm ready. I finally get a chance to fight someone who isn't a wimp."
