Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight: Kidnapped

Kaia didn't dress appropriately for this dreadful weather but that wasn't really what she cared about at the moment.

She didn't tell a soul about where she was going. Thankfully, Paula hadn't been home when she went to go get her passport and cards. She had booked the soonest flight on her way to the airport and had to wait angstily for an hour before it was ready to go.

All through the journey, she'd been anxious, biting at her nails, digging into her skin with her fingers, picking at her cuticles. While wondering if this really was the best way to go about this.

Should she have told someone? Just to let it be known where she was if things went South. She wasn't even sure these people or person had Chanel, just blindly walking into a lion's den.

However, if there was a chance she could save her sister, Kaia would gladly take it, no matter how dangerous.

And this was dangerous.

Chanel goes missing for a week and suddenly a note is appearing in her unresponsive father's hands about where she should come to if she wanted to save her sister. Nothing asked, no random. Nothing.

It all was giving Kaia a very bad foreboding. And for a moment, her mind went to Luca. For some strange reason. It seemed her life seemed to be upturned even more than it was ever since their encounter.

Was he… Was he behind this?

No one gave you that amount of money without a catch. Kaia's heart sped up anxiously.

It was already dark when Kaia arrived and Alaska's cold seeped deep into her bones as she tried to ask for directions once she stepped outside the airport. After a while of people not really paying her attention and her frustration steadily growing to the point of tears, a van pulled up in front of her.

"Need a ride?" It was a red haired lady with a southern accent chewing gum loudly and looking relatively harmless. Beside her, a guy with earphones over his ears had his eyes closed and looked asleep.

Kaia showed the paper where she'd written down the address. "I need help getting to this warehouse."

The lady glanced at it and nodded. "It's your lucky day, I'm headed there now, get in back."

Kaia usually had reservations accepting rides from strangers, but Chanel's life was at stake here and this was probably a Godsent ride to her, heading in the same direction. So she didn't think twice about going round and opening the windowless back door.

Once it was open enough for her to go in, a hand reached out and dragged her in.

"Now!" Someone shouted amidst Kaia's scream and the door slid back shut into place forcefully.

"Let me go!" Kaia screamed as she threw her elbow back and caught someone forcefully in the face then scrambled for the door. If she would hurt herself jumping off a moving van, so be it. At least it beats getting kidnapped when she was still looking for her missing sister

"Grab her, goddamn!" The red haired lady screamed as Kaia was making progress in opening the door. Someone grabbed her before she could open it all the way, holding her two hands behind her.

"Easy, easy there." A rough voice whispered in her ear. "We aren't going to hurt you, Princess, we're keeping you safe."

"Let go of me, you psychos!" Kaia screamed, thrashing her legs around until that was held down too. The van was dim and she couldn't see the faces clearly.

"Kaia, please." A female voice spoke up and Kaia paused a little as she tried to place the voice. "I know this might be scary for you, but Dan's right. We're doing this to keep you safe."

"R-Rosalie?" It really was Rosalie. Last time Kaia has seen her was that night intruders broke into her house. "Wha- What?"

"It's going to be too much to explain right now, but we know where you're headed. And it's very dangerous." Rosalie continued and at this point, Kaia didn't understand anything anymore. This had to be one very long nightmare.

"What do you mean you know where I'm headed? What?" Kaia started hyperventilating. "What's happening?"

Rosalie came closer and Kaia could finally see her face, with a new addition of a long gash on her cheeks.

"You're in danger because you're the one way to get to the alpha."

7 HOURS PRIOR

"I made it perfectly clear that you should keep eyes on her." Luca's voice was deathly calm. That was a huge sign of him being pissed.

Tuan, the gamma wolf in charge of the delegated team assigned to watch over Kaia shuddered amidst his pains.

"We were ambushed by vampires, they–" Tuan began but Luca was cutting him off.

"Round off every injured person and go get treated by Pat." Luca said, walking into his jet as he mind linked with Lionel. "I'll take it from here."
