Chapter 23 - Hungry Traveler

"Um... um... Then?" Elvira nodded as she took the pen open and wrote down all the important things she needed to remember.

"What are you doing?" Zion was surprised when he saw Elvira rushing to get a pile of paper and start writing. He, who lived for 300 years, only knows that if someone is writing on paper, it means they are writing calligraphy.

With that ancient understanding, he was really confused when he saw what she was doing and didn't know what was the purpose of her doing that.

"Please ignore me and continue your explanation. I'm just making notes." While continuing to write, she signaled him to ignore her.

"Taking notes? Ohh, I see now... So that's how modern humans remember things that are easily forgotten. Damn, why is there such an effective method of remembering these days?!" Zion looked annoyed that Elvira would not forget his words as long as the paper was in her hands.

"Hey! What are you planning to do? Is that why you explained so quickly?" Elvira narrowed her eyes and glared at Zion as she sensed the hidden intent in his words.

"No-no, I'm just blown away by your method of remembering. I didn't expect writing to become such a popular thing now." He looked troubled when he saw Elvira's sharp gaze and tried to dodge by making false excuses.

"That's right. Please continue." After her doubts were cleared, she continued to write and asked him to continue his explanation of her training.

After Elvira didn't seem suspicious of him anymore, Zion looked relieved and continued to explain again.

"If you understand how to kill me, now is the last thing I need to explain. Regarding your training... You must..." He sounded fluent as he continued his explanation but suddenly he stuttered as he was about to explain the training that Elvira had to do.

"Should be what?" With a confused face, she didn't know why Zion stopped talking and started to stagger.

"Um... You have to do..." His voice trailed off and his gaze continued to stare at the table behind Elvira.

"Could you please stop joking? Don't waste my time listening to your ramblings." Elvira was really annoyed when he sounded like he was toying with her and continued to ramble on.

*Growl*

When her room was quiet because Zion didn't answer her request, she suddenly heard a small roar from somewhere.

"What sound is that?" Her eyes wandered around the room to find the source of the roar. But before she could find the source of the sound, Zion suddenly collapsed.

*Brakkk*

With a pitiful face Zion lay holding his stomach which was starting to growl. "Can you feed me first?"

She immediately stood up when she saw the Evil Spirit curled up like a starving traveler.

"Ha? I just heard that Evil Spirits can feel hungry." Elvira was surprised because the mysterious voice came from Zion's stomach.

"Can you ask me after you give me food? I haven't eaten for over 2 weeks." With a dying voice, he asked Elvira for mercy while pointing at the food basket.

Curious about the continuation of his explanation, she took a basket of fruit on the table behind her and placed it in front of Zion.

Only his hand moved to grab one of the fruits in the basket and eat it while curled up.

For some reason she had absolutely no intention of helping him feed him, but she was interested in witnessing the strange way the hungry evil spirit was eating.

One by one the various fruits in the basket began to be eaten by the hungry Evil Spirit, and when they were all finished he was only able to stand up again.

"Uwaa, I feel like I'm alive again." Lifting his hand, he cheered happily when his stomach could be filled after 2 weeks of being empty.

"You are dead and are going to the afterlife, so don't expect to be able to live again." With a curt tone she denied his words, and immediately stood up to continue exercising.

"Why are you acting so nonchalant? Haven't you always been watching me while I'm eating... Are you so worried about me that you want to make sure I'm eating right or not?" With a teasing tone, he immediately replied to her arrogant words. He really didn't want to let the human girl blow her head.

"I also don't know what I was feeling just now. This is my first time feeding a dying creature. And somehow when I saw you eating voraciously, I felt attracted to see it." Elvira blushed slightly as she recalled the sensation of seeing Zion eat voraciously.

"Are you a psychopath?! I didn't expect humans to be happy when they saw other creatures dying?" Zion was taken aback when he saw Elvira shyly discussing he who was battling death.

Zion got a little goosebumps when he remembered Elvira's answer beyond his expectations, and thought that royal bloodlines shouldn't have such preferences.

"Ah, hah, what?! No, no, it's not that I like watching you dying. But I do enjoy being able to help other beings survive death." Elvira just realized that what she said was the hallmark of a psychopath. Not wanting to be considered a strange girl by him, she immediately corrected his misunderstanding.

"Oh, I see. Sorry, I misunderstood what you said. There's no way a holy royal princess would like such a horrible thing, right?" Zion was a little relieved because his suspicions against Elvira turned out to be just a misunderstanding.

"Of course..." She answered a little doubtfully and still seemed to hesitate to explain about her feelings when she saw he dying.
