Chapter 1 - Evil Spirit

Since ancient times, humans have been afraid of evil spirits. They were supernatural beings some of them had half human and half animal features.

Some Evil Spirits came from humans who had died and some were inanimate objects that came back to life.

Unlike humans, Evil Spirits generally have much longer lifespans than humans and possess some sort of spiritual or supernatural power which they use to commit crimes and increase their power.

Because of this threat, some humans were also endowed with a power to save humanity or fight evil spirits. They are the daughters of a royal lineage.

But in recent years, most of them had only received blessings that had protective, strengthening or healing powers. And only a few of them have the strength to fight the Evil Spirits.

The more power the princesses have, the stronger they will attract the attention of Evil Spirits who want to increase their strength.

Due to the inability of humans to see or face Evil Spirits, the royal family had to turn to the Sorcerers for help, which was an association of humans who specialized in fighting evil spirits in order to protect their daughters.

Although the recipients of blessings had always been the target of the Evil Spirits for hundreds of years, fortunately these blessings were obtained when humans reached their teenage years. So they can live peacefully like normal humans without being terrorized by the Evil Spirits.

Since the death of a royal princess who just received a blessing, now every princess must have sorcerers who will protect them from the attacks of Evil Spirits.

Elvira Eterna comes from a royal family, her great-grandfather was former king and was succeeded by his son. She appears as a beautiful and petite junior high school girl. She has long black hair that frames her face and light brown eyes.

Due to the harsh upbringing of her parents and the demands of being a princess, Elvira grows up to be a pure-hearted and caring girl whose innocence about the world in general is due to having lived a sheltered life.

Even though she was protected, it didn't mean her parents would lock her up at home without caring about her education and freedom. She goes to school and lives like a student from the commoner.

This was the last day of her final exam in junior high school. After the bell rang and the clock showed 4 pm, the examiner collected the exam papers one by one from the students' desks.

"After this exam student just need to wait for the announcement of graduation. You are also not required to go to school. I hope you will all get good news from school."

After the examiner gave the announcement and left the class, the students immediately left the class and used the last day of school to make memories and take pictures with friends in the school environment which they thought was very memorable. Although all the students were very enthusiastic about doing it, there were 3 girls who were still in class and didn't intend to participate in making memories like the other friends.

"Hurray, can't believe the exams are over! But I'm not sure that the results will be satisfactory." A girl with short brown hair laid her head limply and sadly on her desk while imagining that she would not pass because of the subjects she did not master.

"Yeah, it's a little annoying because the math exam is scheduled for the end. But we studied together yesterday and Elvira has been trying to teach you patiently, this exam should be much better than last week's try out. Isn't that right, Elvira?" The blonde haired girl tried to encourage her friend and asked the opinion of the friend sitting behind her.

The black-haired girl was a little slow in answering her friend's question because she was busy preparing to go home.

"Eliza is right, as long as you don't answer it by guessing I'm sure that we will graduate and enter high school together." Elvira who was ready to go home immediately walked over to her friend who was sitting 2 tables in front of her.

"Eh, again you want to go home so soon? Don't you want to be like the other friends?" Eliza looks disappointed because on their last day of school, her best friend chose to go home earlier. Even though she hopes to invite her friends to make memories before they enter high school like the other friends.

"That sounds fun! I'm definitely going to miss the school rooftop, because ever since we met in middle school we've always had lunch there." The girl who had lost her zest for life suddenly got excited when she heard her friend's suggestion.

But before she went to the roof of the school, Elvira immediately pounded the table. "Ahem, it's not that I want to spoil this beautiful moment but have you forgotten what your parents asked for last week, Olive?"

Olive's spirit immediately dimmed and looked scared when she immediately remembered her parents' message. "Ah, right! I have to go home too!"

"Looks like you guys are starting to go through some tough times as you're almost into your teens. I'm especially worried about Olive!" Eliza didn't look disappointed because she knew the reason Olive and Elvira had to go home early. And remembering it made Eliza who was a commoner sympathize with them.

"You don't need to worry. Olive already has a sorcerer to look after her anyway." Elvira looked gently at her friend who looked worried and tried to calm her down.

"Huhu, why are you the one who sympathizes with me when I should be the one calming you down... When I was little, I thought the story about Evil Spirits targeting princesses was just a myth, but I didn't expect that now my two best friends would have to face that. " Eliza immediately stood up and hugged her two friends a little tighter and hoped that they would be able to change the destiny that had been engraved on their hands.

"I'm sorry I can't play after school as usual. How about you guys celebrate my birthday instead? We can eat and take pictures as much as we like at my house!" Olive was slightly moved and felt the sadness behind Eliza's words. She happily invited her two friends to come to the birthday party while wiping her cheeks.

"Good idea! I'm also curious what kind of blessing you will receive." Eliza's eyes lit up a little when she was invited to a birthday party. She didn't really think about the blessings that her friend received, because actually she was imagining being present at a noble's luxurious party filled with delicious food, luxurious dresses and taking pictures with the handsome young master.

"Since your birthday is still 2 months away, will you attend too, Elvira? My mom and dad are also coming, so I want to look like I can be friends with the other princesses." Olive looked at Elvira with a pitiful look and hoped that her friend who had the same worries as her would come along.

"Of course. But you should go home now, because your sorcerer is waiting for you." Elvira peeked out the window and pointed to a man dressed in all black who was standing at the school's exit gate.

Olive who saw her sorcerer immediately rushed to pack her things and ran to the classroom door.

"Okay, I'm really looking forward to your arrival. Remember 2 weeks from now!" Waving his hand, Olive reminded her friends once again.

Elvira and Eliza replied with a smile while wagged her hand.

"Is the sorcerer able to protect Olive from the evil spirits?" With a look of disbelief, she looked at Olive from the window who was running hastily towards the exit.

"As long as Olive's blessings are not too strong, then she will only attract weak Evil Spirits. And I believe that even the weakest sorcerer can protect her." Even though he already had a sorcerer, Elvira was still a little worried about the power of the blessing that her friend would receive.

"I hope you and Olive get only a weak blessing so that you can live in peace and live your high school life like normal humans... Ah, since we failed to take a photo together, how about we go home together?" Eliza walked first and asked her friend to go home together.

"I hope so." Elvira's gaze could not escape from Olive who was still running in the schoolyard.

"Why are you still there, let's go home!" Eliza who had arrived at the classroom door was a little surprised because her friend did not follow her and was still standing staring out the window with a blank stare.

"I'm coming!" She, who was slightly surprised, immediately turned her gaze away and followed Eliza.

There was a little regret in Elvira's heart for not accompanying Olive to the exit gate. Because she strangely saw some faint shadows following her friend from behind.

She felt that the faint shadow could only be seen by Her because Eliza who was also looking at Olive did not show any signs of seeing the faint shadow. This sight she had never seen before and it scared her a little.
