Later that evening, Lord Kieran wandered through the halls of his castle. He stepped out onto the balcony to enjoy the evening breeze. Unlike in the daytime where the whole Aisgarth was enveloped by the thick gray clouds obstructing the sunlight, the sky was clear at nighttime. The stars could be seen twinkling up the night sky and the moon was illuminating anything it reached on the ground.
Lord Kieran moved to the edge and leaned against the railing, his thoughts in disarray. At this hour, most of the lights in Greydale Town were out, but he could still spot a few of them from a distance. He loved this place where he was born and lived with his parents and elder brother. Aisgarth used to be teeming with life, like any other place in Asnar, and it was his fault that it ended up as it was today. Still, he would do anything within his capability to protect it and the people living within its borders.
