Hermes, the god of Hermes Familia had his eyes on a child named Bell as the next hero in this era to face the cursed Promised Time.
However, because of his young age, he is still green at the depravity and cruelty of humanity that he will surely soon face in the future.
That's why Hermes orchestrated a challenge between him and a group of veteran adventurers to teach him a lesson.
The plan went well and Bell showed that he has the quality of a hero, however his goddess Hestia who was upset of the incident suddenly emits her godly power when she arrives.
It was a situation that Hermes did not expect, as they all knew that the dungeon hated them, and releasing their Arcanum inside will surely provoke it and possibly cause the advancement of the Promise Time.
Shortly after Hestia outburst, a large portion of the jungle floor was eradicated by a huge explosion, trees was uprooted, and a large lake was instantly evaporated.
Hermes was startled and immediately ordered her Familia to quickly evacuate every adventurer out of the Under Resort out of his intuition.
"Asfi, call everyone and evacuate them from this floor, I have a bad feeling about this."
Asfi Al Andromeda, the captain of his Familia saw the grave look on his god's face and immediately sent a message to relay Hermes' order.
Even with his usual goofy attitude, Asfi knew that whenever something happens, their god always steps up to fix the situation.
And thankfully for their quick response, and the timely explosion, they didn't know that a large portion of the adventurers was saved to fight for the promised time including the Loki Familia.
Hermes and Asfi quickly arrived to where the attack came from and all that they saw was a young man facing against the Loki Familia instead of a spawn of the dungeon.
However, it seems like the battle had just ended and surprisingly against his expectations it looks like the young man won against them.
"Was it him?"
"Yes."
Hermes received a confirmation from Asfi that was tasked to collect any information about him.
"Magen David"
A name given to him not by his own god Goibniu but by Hephaestus his rival Familia, it was a surprising act as the nickname means "Someone Protected by Gods".
Everyone thought that it was an insult and a show of force from Hephaestus against Goibniu however, contrary to everyone expectations, it was a warning against every god in the Denatus that he must never be touched nor provoke or else they will surely face a consequence.
No one thought that it was a joke, as the last warning was clearly stated by the goddess of beauty, Freya herself.
Hermes was even specifically reminded by her when Freya ask him to fetch the water of the spring Kanathos to renew her purity.
Of course, he abided from her request, albeit slightly, specially when his intel told him about the bout of David against the strongest Ottar.
It was an absurd information that he has received, and he never dared to believe that someone so young could defeat him, however he can only swallow his doubt after seeing what happened next.
An attack incompressible to man was unleashed, it was not a question of power nor strength but the impossibility of the strike.
David with his calm look gazed at the sky before silently unsheathing a blade hidden from his umbrella.
A series of six blinding strikes strike the ceiling of the dungeon where the numerous illuminating crystal was shredded to fine pieces and continued towards an enemy only he, Hermes has seen.
As a god, he saw an abomination that was supposed to spawn in a matter of a minute and wreak havoc in this floor.
Similar to the Goliath in the 17th floor it has a humanoid form with bigger mass and figure, however contrary to the Goliath brown skin it has a slimy green of color.
Hermes has already seen the strongest Rex this dungeon can offer, and this Monster alone dwarfed it by strength alone.
He couldn't imagine how much damage that creature could do when it was given time to spawn, even breaking free from this dungeon confinement is not impossible.
Thankfully, a monster greater than that mutated Rex is here, and Hermes can't still believe what really happened, even seeing it by himself.
Each torso of the Green Goliath was cleanly cut including its head and its core was obliterated at the same time.
It was a strike beyond space and time that if the Monster didn't explode on death, the damage would only appear on it, leaving the whole ceiling of the 18th floor intact.

David glanced at the golden haired god that was spying on him.
Hephaestus, Freya, Loki and even his god Goibniu, reminded him to never accept any candy from him as they said that he was a bad influence.
He doesn't want to test it, but they seem right as the god they talk about looks like he saw a ghost with how he looks like.
Anyway he stared back at the top of the dungeon ceiling where an abomination was, thanks to his Ultimate Eye, he prevented a twisted future that could have taken place.
A green humanoid monster similar to the Goliath should have spawned from that location, bringing destruction to this floor.
Of course, he could defeat it once it emerged, however countless lives would be wasted if it was given a chance.
He looked back at the wide eyes beneath him, he didn't hate her, as he knew she just had an issue.
However, her ways of acquiring strength is not something a normal human would do, and he respects her for this, but everyone has their preferences, so he never judges her actions.
Loki told him that he should bring more subordinates (women) in his arms to nurture and help him in the Promise Time.
He couldn't deny that Ais had the talent and will to be stronger in the future, and all that she needed was proper guidance and aim.
David is about to entertain the golden haired Sword Princess before resurfacing from the dungeon as the expedition is officially already ended, however an attack suddenly descends on him.
An attack that is comparable to the evening sky pierce through him and killed him instantly.

Enyo the god of violent war has carefully planned from the beginning for the end of everything, however a huge setback has suddenly appeared.
He was someone who aimed for absolute chaos for everyone in Genkai before bringing it even to Tenkai, but doing so would require what was beyond the dungeon and flawless execution of his plan.
"Fk!"
He watched how the puny human eradicated the monster Rex of this floor because of Hestia's reckless behavior; however, it was dealt with such ease that it couldn't even emerge from its nest before it was defeated.
He has even pumped the monster to deal with the wrenched child along with the strongest Familia alongside with him, but it was for a naught.
"I couldn't let him get stronger anymore, or else everything I have wished for will turn to nothing!"
David just suddenly appeared when he encountered the fight between him and Allen, after taking the Cat People in his care he was thankful to him at first.
However, after his intel told him how David won against The King, he personally followed him to find a chance to kill him.
But seeing his feat of defeating the executives of the Loki Familia and killing the Black Goliath has finally sent him to the edge, his growth and strength is already beyond his scheme.
He would rather die with him and watch how his plan prospers in heaven, than not see it at all.
Like starlight his Arcanum straight out disintegrates David, with not even a speck of dust left, leaving a large hole in the dungeon even showing the abyss in it.
Like a mad man, he laughs hysterically before commanding his followers to execute the plan immediately.
Now no one can discover that it was him that killed David and the incident will be covered by the start of the Promise Time, and everything will be blamed on the gods inside the dungeon.
"What a devilish plan."
Slowly his body is disappearing from bottom to top.
"I'll be waiting for the end in heaven."
His mask fell, showing his true identity, Dionysus, the god of winemaking, and the cause of it all.
