Lucy had no other choice than to really clean up the mess she made. And because it was really hard to get the glitter off everything and she had to run the hairdryer for a long time before it stopped flying out the remains of it.
Lucy was so sweaty she couldn't take it anymore. Not caring about her clothes, which were smelly too, she hopped in the shower getting the glitter from her own body and hair. It really didn't help much, but at least some got down.
She put on the clothes again, and she went back to the living room. She saw a familiar person sitting on the couch and saw his head falling down, the tumbler in front of him.
Lucy came to Hwa and checked him out. Something felt off, and she got really scared when she saw that rigid breathing of his.
Panicking, she got her phone and called Lili.
"I think I killed him…" she said out loud, her voice trembling with fear.
"Have you already thought about how to dispose of the body?" Lili asked. Lucy suddenly calmed down just because she knew someone had her back.
"Nah, I'm in Korea again. I have limited possibilities…" Lucy answered, deep in thoughts. But good, she still had her sense of humor.
"Stop!" Lei couldn't probably hold it anymore and spoke up. Lucy could hear the panic in his voice. Well, at least she wasn't alone panicking. Nice to know.
"How can you be so casual about killing someone?" he asked, totally shocked.
"She can't even punch me. I doubt she would kill anyone. And even if… I would help her get away with it," Lili answered him, Lucy coughed and gained Lili's attention back. Even though it wasn't true about not being able to punch her. She used to do Taekwon-Do when she was a child. She would be able to kick her, but what would Lucy gain from it?
"Thanks, but I'm sure now. I gave that jerk sleeping pills but his breathing is irregular a lot." Lucy sounded worried even to herself. Well, maybe because she was worried she killed someone's idol.
"Why did you give that idol sleeping pills?" Lili had a problem keeping her laughter in.
"He pissed me off. And it was only half of Zolpidem." Lili laughed out loud. Of course, it pissed her off that she wasn't able to sleep. It was all his fault.
"You wanted to kill him because he made you angry? What's the frequency of his breaths?" Lucy counted his breaths with the help of her watch.
"Around seven or eight, I'm not sure. He breathes very shallowly." Lili laughed, and that calmed Lucy down a lot. Lili wouldn't laugh if it was really bad.
"Okay, calm down. Do his eyes move?" she asked, just to be sure. There was a moment of silence. When Lucy was looking at his face. There was something off.
"Yeah. A lot." Lucy said, his voice having a slight emotion that she couldn't describe, yet.
"You like him!" Lili yelled out, Lucy almost dropped her phone.
"No, I could never like him. He is a pain in my ass. He does whatever is in his power to make my life hell. But he hired me as a teacher. He is going on a world tour or whatever soon, but he speaks only Korean. He was complaining about lack of sleep, so I wanted to help him out." Lucy defended himself, not saying a word about the bet. She knew how Lili would react.
"Don't worry. He is in a really deep sleep. Guess he wasn't sleeping much, so pills put him in REM sleep. Nothing unusual. He will be rested when he wakes up," Lili said, and Lucy left out a big sigh and sounded calmer and relaxed when speaking next.
"I'm sorry. I thought I did something wrong. I hope I haven't disturbed you." Lucy said apologetically.
"Nothing to worry about. But don't kill anyone, okay? I do not know where to get hydrochloric acid…" Lili made a joke and Lucy laughed. They said goodbyes to each other and hung up.
"That's how you know they are your real friends," she mumbled to Seonghwa. And leaned toward him to check his breathing again.
'Since when had he a red birthmark on his neck?' Lucy pondered about it.
She looked even closer. If she didn't know better, she could swear this was a different person. But it definitely was Seonghwa. The face was his. Yet, weirdly wasn't.
"What is this weird feeling? Am I hallucinating?" Lucy was confused more and more. She poked herself and felt the pain.
"So I'm not sleeping…" she mumbled. Lucy raised her hand and held it above Seonghwa's cheeks. Was she only imagining it, or were they a bit fuller?
Ready to touch his cheeks, she laughed at the absurdity of her thoughts. She really thought she was hallucinating just because something felt off about a person that she barely knew.
"I probably lost all my brain cells here," she said and let her hand fall once more. But then it looked like fun. She always wanted to poke someone's cheeks, so she raised her hand again.
"I'm sorry," she said, chuckling, and poked Hwa's cheek. She was completely missing the opening door that couldn't be heard over the playing television.
"What the fuck you did to my brother?!" Lucy's immediate reaction was to jerk herself and stand up away from Hwa. She looked in the direction from where the voice came and, totally confused, faced bewildered Hwa.
Her head was going from the sleeping person to the shouting, angry person in front of her.
"Two of you?" Her voice almost couldn't be heard. As only one word popped up in her head. Then her world spun and Lucy carefully sat on the ground just where she was standing.
"I think I'm hallucinating. I went nuts from the loss of sleep. Yes. There is a side effect of the pills: I could be hallucinating…" she mumbled.
Lucy was definitely hallucinating because there was no other explanation.
