Chapter 3 It Was Amazing
Hearing Joss' instructions, Charles quickly went forward.
"Sir, but how?"
After calling Charles over, Joss removed the mute spell.
"Put your hand on this."
"Yes."
Charles respectfully took the phone from Joss' hand and carefully pressed on the strange magic runes.
As he pressed it, the phone reacted.
The magic runes on it began to light up one by one. After they all lit up, a mechanical voice came from the phone.
"Registration successful. Communication number: A*****001.
"Please remember your communication number. You can share your number with your family and friends to communicate with them.
"At the same time, you can record the communication number and names of others on this device to communicate with them!"
As the voice rang out, the mages almost understood the function of the phone.
However, an even greater doubt came.
Even Gray, who was a slow-tempered person, could not bear it any longer.
Since it was a communication tool, so what was the difference between the magic phone and a voice transmission array?
He reminded, "Sir, a voice transmission array has the same function as this thing. If we want to promote this thing..."
Gray did not finish his sentence, but everyone understood what he meant.
"Voice transmission array?" Joss laughed.
How could that thing be worthy of being compared to the magic phone that he had created!
He then asked in return, "A voice transmission array can only be constructed by a high-level mage who has a certain level of knowledge in magic. It also requires a psychic mage to be able to capture the corresponding magic fluctuations.
"Moreover, it might not be successful.
"Even if it succeeds, the receiver won't be able to receive the message immediately due to the distance.
"There's one more point. A voice transmission array needs the support of magic power. If you want to continuously transmit messages, you can only do so within the range of the mage tower."
Gray and the other mages nodded.
These were indeed the drawback of a voice transmission array. Even if it was constantly improving, the downsides still existed.
Neil raised his own opinion. "Sir, could this phone solve these disadvantages? If it could solve those problems, perhaps someone would be willing to buy it. It could also be a source of income."
"Neil, do you think that's all?" Joss laughed again.
What were they thinking...
"This phone isn't limited to any area or user. Even a muggle who doesn't know magic can use it in the dark forest filled with fog or in the dark underground.
"Most importantly, it's real-time communication."
It was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.
How could this be possible?
How could such a miraculous creation exist?
Even an archmage would not dare to guarantee that they could successfully construct a voice transmission array in such a dangerous environment, and there was no restriction on the users.
No one believed Joss' words.
A person in the front row stood up instantly.
His hair and beard were gray, but what was different from the other mages was that he was tall and huge. He did not look like a mage, but more like an orc warrior.
"Joss, forgive me for being blunt, but such a perfect creation simply doesn't exist!
"Moreover, the materials used to create this thing are so cheap. Even if this special engraving was carved on it, it wouldn't have such a magical effect. Even the rumored divine engraving wouldn't be able to do it!"
After saying that, the orc warrior did not sit down.
Well, same sh*t...
Joss replied once again, "Marn, I know that as an alchemist, you are familiar with the properties of all kinds of magic materials. However, for an alchemist, only by experimenting can they discover and verify the truth.
"Right now, you haven't even conducted any experiments on this phone, yet you spoke with such confidence. This isn't good."
Marn's expression changed.
His words had indeed violated the principles of alchemists.
However, he was a hot-tempered person and did not fit in with the other alchemists.
He did not have any intention of taking back what he had said. He continued to stand and said in a low voice, "Joss, if this thing really has the effect you said, I'm willing to accept any punishment!"
"Really?"
"In the name of an alchemist!" Marne shouted again.
"Good!"
Joss praised him and said at the same time, "Since you doubt it, then you can test it yourself. However, if the phone has such an effect, I want the meteorite divine iron you have in your collection."
Marne's face changed.
Meteorite divine iron was a true divine item.
He was also a magic alchemist, but he had only one divine item.
However, thinking about the effect of the phone...
Marn felt that he was sure to win!
"Deal! However, if it doesn't achieve that effect, you must grant me access to the Hermie family's magic library!"
The Hermes family's magic library had countless magic books.
There were even some original manuscripts of alchemists. If he were to read it, his alchemy skills would be greatly improved.
Joss did not refuse.
Why would he refuse such an offer?
"Sure!" Joss replied and threw another two black squares to Marn.
"You can get someone to try with you. The farther the better."
Marn took the phones and gave one to an apprentice. The two of them proceeded to register their communication numbers.
Then, Marn built a magic array and opened a portal.
"I'll send you out of the territory of the mage tower. I'll call your communication number later. Do you understand?"
"Yes, sir!" The apprentice replied.
The conversation between the two was not concealed. On the contrary, it was deafening. It was obvious that Marn did it intentionally.
"Let's begin!"
After saying that, the two went through the portal and sent a message to the Twin Towers meeting hall.
A moment later, another portal appeared in the meeting hall.
Marn appeared.
"Sir, I'll start now."
After informing Joss, Marn confidently dialed the apprentice's communication number.
Beep... Beep... Beep...
A mechanical voice sounded again.
"Kid, Can you hear me?"
Marn shouted at the phone.
The mages in the meeting hall held their breaths and listened quietly.
On one hand, they felt that this was impossible.
How could such an unreasonable creation appear in the name of the archmage?
On the other hand, they hoped that a miracle would happen.
If it was true, it would mean that they would be rich. In the near future, the Twin Towers would even become the most powerful mage tower in Hopeland Continent.
Time passed quietly.
There was no sound coming from the other side.
A smug smile appeared on Marn's face. He then said, "Joss, it seems that I..."
However, Marn stopped talking all of a sudden.
The voice of the apprentice came from the phone.
"Sir, are you there?"
