Marbas shimmers into the bedroom of the prince's room. Looking around he notices that the man still has the gift from Aisling on his nightstand.
Marbas thinks back to when he was doing Izeal's bidding. He did enjoy the feeling of having others fear him. Now though having the love of the family is stronger than that feeling. Marbas remembers when Aisling gave the boy her silk headband to cover his eyes. She felt him to young to see the death of Marbas's fortress. The boy was there with his father not knowing that his father was the one giving the orders that day. Aisling was not supposed to be there yet she had Morrigan bring her. Crystal had been drifting in and out of dream walking to see Steve. Aisling came to ensure that he would not find her. It was before Marbas knew that Crystal was of his blood.
When the Shiek comes out of his shower he sees the demon from his childhood touching the silk headband.
