Selene looks into the pool at the outline of the egg. Despite it looking shallow the pool is very deep and connects to the southern sea deep beneath the earth.
"Saphira how did you get it here? " Selene asks.
Saphira twists her hands together not wanting to answer.
"You are not in trouble but when I was in this place with Shiro. I was many centuries after the battle. The egg was not here then." Selene tells Saphira.
"There is a hidden place here in the mountain. It takes you to different times . I found it by accident I followed a snake that I kept seeing. When my mother laid the egg she was near death. I did not want to risk Ian or Ama getting it. I hid it by pretending to be sleeping till they left. They never slept here in fear they would be killed. Once they were gone I rolled it slowly and quietly to the hidden place. When I went inside I asked the gatekeeper to help me hide it in a time that was safe. " Saphira tells them.
