"My apologies." Junior Priestess Maia replied in a low tone.
"A hundred acolytes and Priestesses have performed the blessing chant in oneness of mind, just one idler would not pose any problem. The Creator's blessing is upon us, be at ease." The High Priestess continued before she passed a glance down at Rekya.
"A willful and unruly nature is all a part of the natural order, yet as the Creator's vessels, we must learn to tame our hearts or risk loosing his trust in us. Tell me young one, what would become of you if you lost your sight?" The High Priestess asked.
Rekya bit her lip, not even daring to imagine what her life would be like without the gift of the Creator that had given her a chance to be amongst the revered priestesses of the Oracle's Hall despite her low birth.
Rekya had been born with the seers mark, her sight and visions had guided and saved her time without number and the Creator's presence had always shielded her from danger even while she was out on the streets with no place to call home.
Rekya could not dare imagine a life where she was not one of the Creator's own, a life without his presence and his guidance.
"I will never fail the Creator's trust...not until the day I breathe my last." Rekya vowed solemnly.
"Very well young one, the path is set before you, I dearly hope that you chose rightly." The High Priestess said with a small smile.
"Alright, that is enough for today's chant. Now, you all must have heard the bells, it is the auspicious time now and the knighting ritual is set to begin from our very own Oracle's Hall."
"In a little while, our doors shall be opened to fifty of the most worthy warriors from across the Empire, each blessed by the Creator with the warrior's mark."
"As we all know, the Knight's Order is the most prestigious order in all the lands and by the Creator's design, our Empire boasts of the greatest Knights."
"Once again, on this auspicious day, the Knightdom of Kinouri shall welcome new Knights but first, they must be tried and purified at the cleansing pool before they are presented to His Imperial Majesty."
"Without much words, you all must endeavor to maintain the honor and prestige of the Oracle's Hall and we must ensure everything is in perfect order so the ritual may be properly carried out."
"These are the orders of the High Oracle." The High Priestess announced.
"Disciples will obey." The Acolytes and Junior Priestess echoed in unison.
"Now, you shall all receive a parchment assigning your duties from this moment till the end of the ceremony, execute your assigned duties efficiently, there will be no room for mistakes." The High Priestess continued as she waved a hand and a parchment materialized before each person.
"Dismissed." The High Priestess concluded.
Rekya reached a hand out and accepted the parchment, rolling it open as she headed out of the Hall of Priestesses, eager to partake in the excitements of the knighting ceremony.
