Arijit held a serious expression as he checked his watch constantly. The ladies were hesitant to come close with the look he wore.
He glanced at his watch again and he didn't notice someone coming towards his direction, bumping into each other, the items on the other person's hands fell on the floor.
Arijit was already annoyed and wanted to scold that person but he saw it was a lady, she looked young too, probably her early twenties, he kept his cool. Many ladies did this a lot and it wasn't a surprise.
He walked forward without offering her a hand and he heard her voice. "Did you lose your sense of apology? You crashed into me and you cannot even apologize?!" He heard the woman yell making him stop in his tracks. He turned towards her and saw the glare she gave him. Blue eyes. He thought, they weren't common and it intrigued him. No, the lady intrigued him. She didn't look like one of those women who acted coy all of the time. She looked really displeased and with one glance, he knew she was really angry. 'It would be better to give her a hand.' He thought.
He bent over, helping her pick the papers on the floor. He glanced at it and he could tell she was looking for a job. 'Mira.' He read her name out inwardly.
"You know, it's partly your fault too." He told her, to which the woman remained silent.
"Mira. I'm talking to you. You should also apologize." He said and the girl let out a dry laugh.
"You see, that's the problem I have with you rich folks. Not submitting into your mistakes. I hate you." She said, picking up the last piece of paper but he caught her hand.
"You just met me, why would you hate me?" He asked and she scoffed.
"Let go off my hand." She said, staring into his dark eyes making him confirm that she was different from the rest. He finally let go off her and they both stood.
He saw her leave and he called out her name. Something just kept drawing him to her, and it intrigued him to know her more. She reminds him of his sister, but this one seemed too brave.
She stopped and turned to look at him. "What? And how the hell did you get my name?" She asked in an impatient tone.
His gaze shifted from her to the papers on her hands and her mouth formed an 'o'. He must have read half of it. She thought to herself.
"I'd like to offer you a job at my company. You'll do great." He said and she shook her head.
"I'll be fine on my own." She said.
"I'm not sure you know who I am. Let me introduce my --"
"I know you. Arijit Singh. The mighty CEO of the Singh corporation. It's quiet a surprise to see you at a fun park." She said.
"Wow. You know quiet a lot about me. Why don't you take the job. It's not everyday people get an opportunity to be offered a job by me." He said and he heard her let out a dry laugh. What's with her dry emotions. He thought to himself.
"Like I said, I'm fine on my own. I don't need a CEO's help. It makes me wonder why you're desperate to get me into your company." She said, shaking her head and leaving his presence.
A smile plastered on his face as Brown walked towards him. "Should I find out about her?' he asked and Arijit nodded.
"Mira Mehta. Bring your reports next week." He said as he lazily walked to sit on the bench.
He glanced at his watch and he could tell that he had less than an hour left. Just when he was about to dial Samara's number, he saw her walk through the crowd with a nervous look.
He stood from the bench, approaching her to make her feel less nervous.
"How was it?" He asked her and her eyes finally twinkled remembering the ride.
"It was fun brother, you should have come with." She said and he let out a nervous laugh.
"Maybe next time." He said and they started to walk towards the car.
"I'll need to go back to the office. Would it be alright boarding an Uber?" He asked her and she nodded.
"I understand brother." She said.
"I ordered the Uber a few minutes ago. It should be here in a few minutes." He explained and she nodded.
About five minutes later, a car stopped in front of them and they guessed it was the Uber.
Samara got in the car and she waved her brother. "Take care brother."
"I will. Be careful." He said and he watched the car disappear from his sight.
He stepped into the car and Brown was the one who was driving. 'he has returned to his CEO's mode.' Brown said in his mind and he sighed quietly but Arijit heard him.
"And what's the matter?" Arijit asked with a calm voice. 'oops! Seems I was mistaken.' Brown internally said.
"Ahh. It's nothing boss! I was just thinking if the girl at the park would accept the offer. If I may ask, why do you want her to work for you? She's not as experienced as the rest." Brown asked, carefully choosing his choice of of words.
"Mm. I don't know." He simply said and Brown sighed again. He would never get straightforward answers from him.
"But she'll learn with time right? She looks like a fast learner." Arijit added and Brown coughed loudly.
"What is it?" Arijit asked but Brown shook his head. Truth was, he had never expected his boss to say more words and the words he said were more shocking. 'She'll learn with time right?' The words echoed in Brown's head. When did his boss start waiting for others to learn.
It's true that he was nice to the people around him but it wasn't the same for outsiders! This was something really shocking to him.
"Mr Mehra would be at the office any moment from now. Drive faster, we wouldn't want him being disappointed." Arijit said and Brown accelerated the car.
"We need to get you more fruits to eat, plus you need to gym more. You're slow." He complained and Brown nodded.
He didn't know if it was him or his boss was talking more than usual. He only talked this much when he's nervous. Was he nervous?! But what would make the Almighty CEO nervous? He could only ask himself.
