Eva's world was breaking around her. She was so happy this morning; they had arrived at their permanent estate in their very own territory, yet now it felt like the world was falling around her. She took a deep, ragged breath as another sob escaped her throat.
She used one of her hands to cover her mouth. She did not know why she was trying to hide her expression. The door had already clicked shut behind Lucas, but she knew he could hear her even outside the door.
