"Snap out of it already! You need to go talk to Eva while the potion finishes brewing. I will not give her this potion without her permission, you hear me?" Fiora's voice brought Lucas back from his thoughts.
How am I supposed to tell Eva this? Lucas rose from the ground and clenched his fists.
"What if she refuses?" He didn't want to think of this possibility, but not even he would want to give up on these children if it didn't mean her death.
"Then you will respect her wishes and hope the spirits intervene." Fiora motioned for Lucas to leave the room.
Lucas walked out in a daze. What did it mean for the spirits to intervene? What was more how was he going to explain this to Eva? With his stiff expression, most of the staff avoided him as he climbed the five flights of stairs back to the master bedroom.
