It was finally the day they would be leaving the Capital behind. A lot of things had happened to Eva here, but she didn't regret any of it. With her daughter in her arms she looked over the Capital from the hill leading to the east.
"Do you not want to leave after all?" Lucas wrapped his arms around her waist.
"No, I know we will be back towards the end of this year. I am just reflecting on all the decisions I made and the amount of growing up I did in this place. The crowded streets feel like home now that mine was destroyed. What's more…" Eva paused as she turned into Lucas' embrace.
"I am excited to spend the rest of our lives together. Let us start our journey to Einhardt." She pulled the collar of his shirt down and kissed him gently.
A long procession of carriages and wagons had been leaving their estate for most of the day, although all of the essentials were packed in the carriage that would be carrying their small family.
