Lucas leaned against the wall in one of the hallways in the Castle. He was already panicking as his imagination went over worst case scenarios. Eva was out there with some unknown men who would not hesitate to attempt to kill their King.
He had it. Their future was in his grasp and, yet again, something took her away from him. His vision blurred slightly as another unsettling scene played out in his mind.
Where had he forgotten to investigate? He thought that all his and her enemies were unable to make any moves. Yet, they clearly had targeted just her and no demands for ransom had been given.
He slammed his fist into the wall and small cracks appeared in the stone. The pain seemed to have cleared his head a little. He took a deep breath and tried to focus on more productive thoughts.
