"Leaders should lead with strength, not with words so easily proven false." Lucas scoffed at the human king's apology.
Augustus pursed his lips and tried to think of something to say. However, the only things he could think of were more excuses. These types of excuses would work for other members of the nobility, but they would fall flat in front of Lucas.
"If you can't lead these pathetic excuses of flesh in the right direction then give me the power to eliminate them."
Lucas' gaze burned into Augustus. He found himself swallowing back fear in the face of such rage. Had he ever felt such rage or emotion about anything? Perhaps he had been complacent in the past relying on others to enact his ideals.
"If I were to give you such power, what exactly would you do with it?" Augustus found himself questioning Lucas' intentions.
