The loud men were laughing boisterously as the man with the axe started breaking down the door. It was disgusting. Why was it every single time he built a home for Eva, it was always destroyed?
The small home in the commoner district was Eva's fault, but he mostly blamed himself. That was all he could do when he was the one who decided to do all of these things without her permission. Also, he was not sure why he felt guilty about all of it.
He wanted to be with Eva, so he paved a path to make that happen. The only misstep he had made was not thinking about how she would feel about it. He thought that maybe she wouldn't remember their fight and he would be okay with that, but it was wishful thinking and he was smarter than that.
It was with all of these frustrations that Lucas grabbed the man furthest away from the armory door and snapped his neck. No noise was made, other than a slight cracking noise that was drowned out by the sound of the axe on the door.
