Lucas pushed back Eva's hair. When he returned to the room with medicine in hand, she had fallen asleep. It worried him that her memories had still not returned. There was so much work to do now that he had land to manage that it felt overwhelming.
He stared at the new stack of papers on the table in the room. Normally, he would look through them in his office, but he couldn't stand leaving Eva alone.
He did not care for the humans who lived on the lands bequeathed to him, but he suspected this attitude would not sit well with Eva. Still, this allowed him to build her a grand castle for her to live in. Humans often took great pride in such things.
Each time the King increased his rank a reward of coins followed. This was a human custom. Lucas had more money than he could carry and reasonably store. It allowed him to give more things to Eva, so he accepted it graciously.
"Master, Fiora wishes to meet with you."
