Chapter 29 - Please Don't Hate Me More

[RANIA]

Rania was nervous about everything she was about to do. She was aware that Jihoon was an alpha wolf, and clearly, there would ensure a fight. The hole they were trapped in was too small to have two werewolf alphas, hell even one was too big for this hole, But hey, Rania had to try.

She couldn't think clearly, not with her worrying about Jihoon every second. As much as she hated to admit it, she needed her enemy back. She needed him to be nagging and annoying as hell, because he was keeping her sane.

He was the glue holding her insanity together. Without him, Kim Rania was a lost cause and that wasn't a pretty sight. Sure, Jihoon didn't know that, but it was also because Rania wasn't exactly the kind of girl to share everything she was going through.

She may have been a stubborn woman, but she had a heart.

At least Dalrae was proof that she had her humanity. Her desperation was clawing her heart and her desire to ensure Jihoon was okay, was fucking with her head. It would have been easier if they er fighting as usual, but right now, there was nothing.

Rania returned Jihoon's head to face the wall, while silently hoping that she wouldn't regret this. She would regret it, but maybe her hope was all she had at the moment. She then pushed herself a little to the front, creating some space between her and Jihoon.

"I'll regret this, but hey, saving a life, right?" Rania said as she panicked. Kim Rania never panicked, not even once, and yet right now, she looked like she was about to ask the goddess to trade her life for the stupid alpha. It didn't seem like a bad choice anyway.

She then got up, and went on her knees before Jihoon, before leaning into the alpha's neck and blowing cold breaths into his ear, before doing the same to his neck and shoulder.

When she got no reaction, she decided to do the most dangerous thing any unmated alpha wolf would ever do.

She opened her mouth, letting her elongated fangs show, before thrusting them deep into Jihoon's neck.

She didn't pull back immediately, instead, she let her fangs linger on Jihoon's neck for a while. She counted down from five and by the time she reached two, an angry alpha growl filled the small hole, a little after Rania found herself a few meters from the hole she was once in.

For a moment, Rania blacked out, losing her consciousness for some good minutes. The push that got her out of the hole was so rough and violent that the growl which followed, forced the walls of the prison hole to fall back in.

Rania watched as the ground rumbled with every growl that followed and she was tempted to get into a fighting stance, but she had done the unthinkable, so whatever was about to be done to her, she kinda felt like she deserved it, but did she?

"Fuck," Rania said once she regained consciousness, only to find Jihoon in his wolf form. His black wolf was so angry, but Kim Rania was focused on the beauty of the animal that was before her. She could tell that this was John's first instinctive shift.

His clear and neat skin was also proof that there were conflicted reasons for the wolf shifting. But then again, what could be so conflicting about Rania and Jihoon's relationship?

The two of them hated and spited each other, so this was pure chaos, but only because the Calindra alpha was angry with Rania. Instinctively, Rania wanted to run her hands through Jihoon's black fan, but his angry growl stopped her from reaching the wolf.

'Oh, he's angry,' Rania said, realization dawning her on what was happening. For an overly alert wolf, Kim Rania was at a loss at the moment. Jihoon however didn't waste any time with the woman.

He growled at her, slowly stalking towards her, not caring that she may have saved his life.

Rania, having been tired from all the thinking and chaotic outburst in the once prison hole, was weak. He didn't have the strength to fight Jihoon, more so in his wolf form, and when she couldn't even transform into her own wolf.

She was drained and it had all taken a toll on her. Maybe she needed to rest, but then that was about to be covered, because Jihoon was about to send her to eternal rest.

Jihoon hovered over the weak Rania waiting for her to do something or say something, but instead, the woman just stayed out. She was daring him to hurt her, to put an end to their enmity. It was almost like she was giving him the chance to pay back Yanna's death.

This was the opportune moment considering Yanna had been attacked when she was helpless. Doing the same to Rania would be the justice his mate deserved.

However, instead of the wolf attaching, instead of ripping through Rania like it was thinking about, the wolf took a few steps back from Rania's body, as if to tell the woman to get up. He looked at what was once their prison hole.

It had shrubs in it.

Defeatedly, the wolf transformed into his human form, revealing a tired Jihoon. He looked so lost as he stared at Kim Rania, who was still on the ground where he had pushed her. She hadn't tried to fight back and that pissed him off even more.

"Why the fuck would you not fight back you little ungrateful wolf?" Jihoon angrily let out and Rania just scoffed, making the Calindra alpha even angrier.

"You realize I could have killed you! I could have ended your life and what? You were just going to give up like that? What the fuck happened to you, Rani?" Jihoon angrily asked, but this time, he HAD noticed that he'd called Rania, 'Rani.'

So he instantly shut up and sat next to the woman who hadn't even made a move to get up from where she was being attacked. Rania looked at Jihoon, wondering whether she should have saved his life.

Of course, she could have saved his life even if he was the reason she was hurting.

She would always save his life, but her ego wouldn't let her tell the man of what she could have done. Instead, she let her mouth do the talking while her brain was still jumping up with thoughts and worries about the man in front of her.

"Ungrateful? Oh, the audacity you got, you little twerp. I fucking saved our life and you're here looking at me like you're supposed to be the fucking saint of my life? You are a joke, my friend. What the fuck did you want me to do?

"Let you die?" Rania asked, having sat up and ignoring everything around her and focusing on Jihoon. Something about this made her work up each time. He was a master of ungratefulness and he was just proving it to her.

"First, I didn't ask to be saved, but since you have grown so good at demanding gratitude, here's the gratitude you demanded," Jihoon said angrily before adding, "Oh thank you great Rania of Incayon—"

"Oh spare me the theatrics—" Rania said, rubbing a hand on her dirty face.

"I'm just beginning, you little swine. You wanted me to kill you, and for what? If I was to kill you, nothing would stop me. But we have a mission and a king to give his dumbhead son back to.

"After that, then we can go on our murdering spree ad hoe to the goddess that we fulfill each other's promises you sick twart." Jihoon clapped back angrily.

He seemed to be so tired of what Rania had done, but why the fuck would he be so worked up about the woman offering herself up to be his kill? Wasn't that what they both had yearned for for so many years? What was it that was different today?

"You are a coward. I gave you the chance to kill me and you couldn't even try and do that. What the hell did you expect? Hugs and kisses. Fuck off!" Rania retorted.

Whatever this man was on, he needed to come off his high horse and back to reality because right now, they both didn't care about what was happening around them, or maybe one of them did.

"Oh, but I will do just that, after we deal with the stupid queen of rogues and her people who stink like shit, and are surrounding us. How the hell do these ferals manage to smell even worse than shit anyway?"
