Chapter 22 - Her Dangerous Murmurs

"Are you okay? I know you're crazy, but your silence is driving me nuts. Curse at me or something, Rania, anything," Jihoon said to Rania.

He didn't care that he probably sounded like an addict of problems. He didn't care that a quiet Rania meant a peaceful ride to Drarun. He wanted her talking, because one thing that was worse than Kim Rania blabbering, was a silent Kim Rania.

Rania looked at Jihoon, with a lot of thoughts in her head. She was wondering when she had become this woman driven by anger and vengeance. She wasn't going to stop, but maybe she was taking a pause to think of the reasons she had gotten to this place.

Maybe Jihoon had been right to talk down to her on their way to Drarun.

Maybe Jihoon had his reasons, but what was truly Rania's reason?

"We need to take the horses to the stream to get some drinks. And we need to take a bath. The stream that divides Calindra and the border, is the only stream we may see in so many days. So, let's utilize it, yeah?"

When Rania was done talking, Jihoon just agreed with her. She was right and they also needed to eat. Of course, there were berries in the forest and they had food, but for now, they would eat the berries and hope to the moon goddess that they didn't have upset stomachs.

It would really be embarrassing to see two alpha wolves pinned down by their diarrhea.

The walk to the stream was quiet, save for the birds and rabbits who were chirping and running along in the forest. At least they reminded Jihoon that he wasn't going to go crazy from the silent treatment Rania was giving him.

"Hey, did you get a revelation or something?" Jihoon asked Rania who just scoffed at him.

She could tell he was uncomfortable with the silence, and that made her want to stay silent a little longer. But after twenty minutes of Jihoon asking her about the damn revelation, Kim Rania was right to be pissed at the Calindra alpha.

"If you're asking if I got a new way of killing you that would not be painless, then I have five ways. Each method is worse than the last. I'm trying to come up with five others so I can rate them from bad to worst and probably be done with you once and for all.

"Now, if you did have anything else, shut the fuck up and keep moving. We are late because of you and the stupid bonfire you lit, which you must not ask me to say thank you because I didn't ask you in the first place.

"I don't know what's wrong with you, but I for one know I am getting closer and closer to my perfect kill procedure for you and—" Rania wanted to continue, but Jihoon interrupted her, a knowing smirk plastered on his face, like this was his new favorite past time habit.

"You're ranting. You, the great Kim Rania of Incayon, are actually ranting!"

Jihoon was in front of her, because somehow, the deadly Incayon alpha was too cooped up in her mind that she hadn't realized she was slowing down. This meant that Jihoon would slow down too, not that he cared to tell that to the stubborn alpha female.

"Fuck off."

"I gladly will, but goddess, you were ranting. This is huge. I will keep it in mind when we get back home, because this is the perfect ridicule for you," Jihoon insisted.

"I promised Dalrae that I wouldn't kill you before we brought back the useless werewolf heir to Obren, but your face, your voice, everything about you is making it hard to focus, y'know.

"Maybe I should do us both the favor and shut you up for good, yeah?" Rania asked as she glared daggers at Jihoon with her eyes. She was worn out from simply thinking and he wasn't making their path an easy one. What the hell was he on anyway?

"Aww, the big bad wolf is scared of breaking her promise to beautiful Dalrae, how sweet!" Jihoon responded, intentionally dragging the last bit to anger Rania even more. These two definitely lived for each other's misery.

"Get a grip, Park," Rania retorted, before quieting down when she heard the sound of angry waves from the stream. Maybe the stream was also mad at Jihoon. At least there was one good thing that was coming from her walk with Jihoon.

Could they even consider this a walk? And if it was so, then this was definitely the walk of pain, because there was just no way in hell that Rania would appreciate a long walk with Jihoon. Maybe she would, but would she?

"You are an ungrateful little wench you know. I lit the damn bonfire because you fell asleep like a sick dog. Oh, and the murmuring in your sleep? What in Obren's good name were you even ruining my sleep for.

"And now, you treat me like this? Goodness, I didn't expect you to be all happy and shit, but I thought we'd kill each other later, y—" Jihoon was frustrated, but nothing frustrated him more than having a stone wall for a partner while out there risking his life.

He knew glaring at Rania wouldn't make her stop or talk to him, but maybe, just maybe they would be able to complete this mission.

"What was I talking about… the murmuring, what was it about?" Rania asked, having moved a little faster and caught up with Jihoon. She was curious to know what tomfoolery Jihoon was pulling this time.

"You gotta be kidding me, right?" Jihoon asked, like this was supposed to be very obvious, but was it? It wasn't daily that they were in the same space with each other and didn't try to take out the other so this was a plus.

"You started it. What was I murmuring about?"

"The white knight."

"What?" Rania asked, not sure how to react to that.

She knew how dangerous it was, especially if she was thinking about someone who was supposed to be a myth. Granted, he was the worst of all evil, but somewhere along the way, they had interacted and she had been safest.

Now that she looked at Jihoon she knew that was a conversation she didn't want to engage in. Especially not with Jihoon because then, her world would topple worse than it already was.

"The white knight. Are you deaf or deliberately stupid? I wonder how Incayon got to trust you to be their alpha female. Jeez!" Jihoon sighed as he walked ahead of Rania and headed to the stream. He was done trying a conversation with Kim Rania.

She was hopeless, but was she?

"You asked, I told you what you wanted. A thank you would be nice and courteous, at this moment, you hopeless idiot," Jihoon said to Rania who just ignored him.

"Rania—"

"When did you get to be such a whiny ass bitch. It is disappointing to know that you can't mind your business. I thought it was the simplest thing to do, but a fiddle mind like yours won't understand anyway. That was my mistake, pardon me."
