[RANIA]
"Great, I'm stuck with him now!" Rania said out loud, in the hope that Jihoon would tell her to shut up.
She had never thought there would come a day when Jihoon's silence was making her lose her mind. Maybe because she had been so used to the man being a literal chatterbox, or maybe there was something more. Whatever it was, Rania wouldn't be telling a soul about it anyway.
"No, he can't be— right?"
"Maybe it's a prank, but if it is, it's not funny."
"I can hear his damn heartbeats, so he's not dead. that should be good, right?"
Rania was scared.
The reality was hitting her in the worst ways possible. She knew that if Jihoon was out for this long, then whoever had kidnapped them, had used some sort of magic, because what other explanation could be there, to contain the uncontainable alphas of Obren?
Rania looked at her clothes, and she was right.
They had been nabbed, and she had put up a fight, judging by the torn clothes she was wearing. Shaking her head roughly she turned to focus on Jihoon. She had realized they wouldn't be out of here in a long while, because clearly, no one had come to check on them.
Judging by the state she was in, she knew they had to have been down here a few days.
She couldn't understand why Jihoon was unconscious though. But she would try and check on him, at least that would keep her busy, other than pacing around the tiny hole with little to no space left between her and Jihoon.
Gently, she squatted, as she let her hand through Jihoon's hair. She wanted to know if they had been hit by something or even a blunt object, but she couldn't feel anything. Instead, she felt how good it was to run her hands on her enemy's hair.
It was crazy how she loved doing it because this was a man she was supposed to hate with her life, but was he?
'Just a little more,' Rania said to herself as she ran her hands in Jihoon's hair. Goddess, the feeling was something she never thought she would feel, but hey, maybe it was just the excitement of having her hands busy.
Still, in her squatted state, she pulled Jihoon's right leg from the cuddle position the poor man had been in. She wanted to see if there was something wrong or maybe if there was an injection mark left there.
Of course, Rania knew that was a long shot, because the alphas healed the fastest in the werewolf kingdom. But she had to try.
Rania went ahead to check Jihoon's body for anything strange, all this while, her left hand was holding Jihoon's neck in a comfortable position. Of course, nothing about their state was comfortable, but Rania's left hand made it better for Jihoon.
By the time she was done, Rania had realized one thing. Jihoon had more scratches on his clothes than Rania's. That could mean either of two things. That Jihoon was the first to be attacked, or the other almost impossible answer, that Jihoon had stood up for Rania.
Rania shook her head roughly again, when she thought about the second option.
She hated that she was hoping he got the scratches from defending her, but even she wasn't that dumb. She knew Jihoon would save himself over her any time of the day, but what if this time, the enemy had stood up for her?
What if she had gotten the support of the unexpected? Rania didn't know what to do, so she shook her head again, hoping that all her thoughts were just a terrible dream when she knew it all wasn't.
In the process, she hit her head roughly on the fresh woods, and she bled for a moment, thanks to the silver. The silver crept into her bloodstream, making her a little weaker than she already was.
"Fuck, what the hell is all this about?" Rania gruntled angrily. She didn't know what to do, and that pissed her off more than anything. A woman who always had the answers, finally had none and the worst part of it all, was that she had a possible comatose idiot in her arms.
She had allowed herself to sit next to Jihoon and had put Jihoon in a matching sitting position so that the man would be leaning on her. Sure, his head was heavy, but it was better than the huddled-up position the alpha boy was in before.
His snores were still quiet and even, though Rania had long given up on the possibility that he had been hurt worse than her.
"Y'know, there are a lot of things I want to tell you, but I can't. And the answers you seek? I have them all, though I'm scared that someday you will know them and you might not hate me anymore," Rania sighed as she let out a sad laugh.
She looked at Jihoon's head on her neck and used her right hand to run her fingers into her hair once again. It was almost like she was addicted to the habit and maybe she was.
"It's crazy how you make me so angry and yet at the same time, I want to tell you why I did everything. I know it's not fair to you and that you deserve the answers, but I can't. Maybe I'll tell you when we're old and grey.
"Because then, you will hate me for keeping the truth away from you for so long, instead of focusing on forgiving me for not saying a word.
"Also, I know I said you look like my grandma's left foot, but that was a lie," Rania said sincerely, hoping that Jihoon would wake up and laugh in her face, but instead, the alpha was just sleeping and snoring.
Somehow Rania had concluded that Jihoon's stores were cute and like music to her ears. She had given up reprimanding herself about them being enemies and her warming up to him.
The man wasn't even listening to her probably, so what other reason would she have to reprimand herself?
"I'll tell you something though. Yanna lied, and it wasn't just her royalty that she lied about. She lied about things worse than that, that's why I killed her. I couldn't let her go—" Rania said but her statements to Jihoon were cut short when she heard the sound of the hole rattling.
Someone was here, finally. So quietly, she sat and waited, all her senses alert, even if her strength was at a bare minimum. But even then Rania knew if she had to fight to save herself and the stupid alpha boy, then she would fight to the dead.
