Chinua arrived just in time when Dawa and his men came down to tell Haitao that he and his men were returning to camp. Since there is still a little work to do, Dawa will take his men back to the camp first, and Haitao and the others will help the villagers to finish.
Chinua asked, "Where are they going?"
Timicin said, "They're returning to camp."
Chinua asked, "Oh, they won't stay to help us until the task is done?"
Od said madly, "I guess he rushed back to report to General Batzorig to get everyone's praise."
Och said, "Drop it." He looked at Od. "Captain Haitao explained to you the reason for being a soldier. We are not here to fight each other; we are here to help the people."
The eleven soldiers spent a day helping villagers complete the rebuilding of the last bridge. After having dinner with the villagers, the village chief and some villagers sent the eleven soldiers back to the camp. When the sun had already started to set, and the villagers, as always, carried baskets of fruits and vegetables to express their gratitude to Captain Haitao.
"Captain Haitao, thank you very much for your help."
"You and your subordinates come down to help us every year. As citizens, we are very grateful to have soldiers like you and your subordinates." An older woman said, handing a basket of eggs to Captain Haitao.
Haitao took the egg basket and said, "If you think there is anything that can help you, please let us know, and we will try our best to come down and help you as much as possible." He handed the egg basket to Timicin.
The eleven soldiers said goodbye to the villagers and started walking towards the training camp.
Crossing the dirt road back to the training camp, Chinua walked slowly behind the others, with Khunbish and Khenbish walking beside her. When Khunbish and Khenbish saw Chinua's expression, they already knew that there must be something Chinua couldn't figure out.
The seven people walking in front of Chinua turned from time to time and looked at Chinua from time to time. Among the seven people, Erden and Chaghatai felt the deepest sense of guilt.
Khunbish asked, "Where have you been, Chinua?"
"I went to meet someone who happened to grow peanuts," Chinua said. She sighed. "The problem was that he refused to teach me his planting techniques. He said he had nothing to offer to any soldier of the Northern army."
Khenbish asked, "Why is Chinua suddenly interested in growing peanuts?"
Chinua said, "Because of what Captain Haitao said to me."
Khenbish asked, "What did he say?"
Chinua said, "I once asked him why no one respected him and why he stayed here. I offered him a solution to stay with elder brother Chimgee and elder brother Mönkhbat, but he refused. He said that elder brother Chimgee loves and is merciful to every single soldier under him, but he lacks trust. Elder brother Mönkhbat and his soldiers were brave but lacking support."
Khnubish said, "What he said was true."
Chinua said, "I know that when it came to the coastline, father's minions will not hesitate to send food and support, because the navel coast is the last line of defense for the northern army, and they are afraid that the northern army will fall." Khunbish and Khebish looked at Chinua. Chinua continued. "But it's different with brother Mönkhbat."
Khenbish said, "Chinua fears that when Prince Mönkhbat needs support, the court will refuse support."
Chinua nodded, "Mmm...the southeast of Hmagol is the border between Tangolia and Sorroket, the two countries that have been at war for the longest time, and what fascinates me sometimes is that Sorroket it's a small country that has been able to defend the attacks that Tangolia inflicted them over the years. I wonder what type of defense they have."
Khunbish asked, "Chinua wants to help Prince Mönkhbat preserving the army's ration?"
"I wanted to see which foods in small amounts would keep a person full for longer," Chinua said. "I was sitting with two men this afternoon and they told me that eating mixed nuts could help a person stay full longer. A person only needs to take only a small amount." She reached into her robe, took out a small bag, and poured out the mixed nuts that the villagers had given her. "Try it, it tastes good, especially the roasted peanuts." Khenbish and Khunbish took some and put them in their mouths. "If brother Mönkhbat and his men can grow peanuts and save it, it will help them. Not only them, but all of us. Emergency ration, if we are surrounded within our own walls for a period of time, these might help in a tight spot."
Khunbish said, "This idea of Chinua is very good."
Chinua frowned in disappointment, "It's a shame that man refused to share his knowledge with me."
Khenbish asked, "Who is this man?"
Chinua said, "The same person who created doubts in my head."
Kenbish grabbed a peanut from Chinua's hand and smiled, "Chinua is very good at persuading people. I'm pretty sure Chinua can convince him to help Chinua solve this problem."
Muunokhoi, who did not like conflict, rushed back to Chinua, Khenbish and Khunbish. He pushed Khenbish aside and put his on Chinua's shoulder. Muunokhoi asked, "Chinua, how are you feeling?"
Chinua said, "I feel fine. Is there a problem?"
"Today, you didn't sit with us all day. You distanced yourself from our small group," said Muunokhoi, looking at Chinua. "Are you disturbed by that stupid Terbish and Chaghatai's comments?"
Chinua was puzzled by Muunokhoi's word. She asked, "What comments?"
"Their stupid comments about pretty women," Muunokhoi said. "You don't have to be upset." He tapped twice on the chest. "To me, I think Chinua is the rarest beauty of all beautiful women in Hmagol."
Chinua said, "Someone said that to me once."
Muunokhoi smiled and said, "And that person is one thousand percent correct. Think about it...Eh? Which of these women is like Chinua. Brave, strong, ambitious, and smart." He chuckled.
Chinua said, "Did you misunderstand something, or did I miss some information? Today I really just wanted to figure out some answers, so I didn't sit with everyone."
Muunokhoi asked, "So you're showing distance all day, not because of what Terbish and Chaghatai said?"
Chinua shook her head. She still didn't understand what Muunokhoi meant. She quickly rushed towards Haitao who was walking in front of everyone. She said, "Captain Haitao, remember the question I asked you, what foods can help a person stay fuller longer."
Captain Haitao said, "Yes, have you figured it out?"
Chinua said, "Yes, I was with the villagers this afternoon and they told me who could help me grow peanuts."
Captain Haitao said, "You asked to leave this afternoon because you were looking for that person? What did that person say?"
Chinua frowned, "He wouldn't help me. He said that when it comes to the Northern Army, he has nothing to say. I still can't figure out why he doesn't want to help the Northern Army."
Captain Haitao said with a smile, "For some people, the most precious wealth is not a hand full of gold and silver, but a heart full of dignity. If you want to get their information, the price is your own heart." He turned to his subordinates. "If you want to go back for dinner, hurry up." He walked slowly ahead.
Chinua stood there, looking at Haitao's back. She thought about Haitao's words. She murmured to herself, "Heart for heart."
Timicin walked up to Chinua and asked, "What are you thinking?"
Chinua said, "Heart for heart."
Timicin said, "What?"
Chinua asked, "What prevents you from sharing your knowledge with others?"
Timicin said, "I hated that person to the core."
Od said, "That person did a bad thing to me in the past."
Och, "That person has no will to learn."
Erden said, "That person didn't pay me a reasonable fee for my knowledge."
Terbish, "I just simply don't like that person."
Chaghatai, "That person doesn't respect me."
Muunokhoi, "That person might use my knowledge to do bad things."
Chinua smiled at the men surrounding her, "Thank you for your honest opinion."
Muunokhoi said with a smile, "Let's work together to become captains and generals in the future."
Timicin scoffed at Muunokhoi's comment, "Do you think it's easy to be a captain or a general?"
Muunokhoi could tell from Chinua's expression that she was deeply troubled by something today, so he wanted Chinua to cheer up. He walked over to Chinua and said, "I know it's not easy to climb that ladder but think about it." He put his left arm on Chinua's shoulder. "General Chinua and her nine most ferocious captains." He pointed to the eight people standing in front of him. "Sounds beautiful. Agree?"
The eight men also wanted to cheer Chinua and play with Muunokhoi, put their right hand on the left chest, knelt down on one knee, and said in unison, "To General Chinua!"
Haitai turned around and saw his young subordinates fooling around not far away. He shouted at the ten people, "If the food ration window closes before we get back to camp, then the Great General and his nine most ferocious captains will do three hundred push-ups and skip dinner."
The young soldiers sneered at Haitao, and followed Haitao down the dirt road quickly, still fighting each other. The group of young soldiers stopped when they heard the sound of hoofs rushing towards them.
The soldier riding fast towards them and shouted, "Urgent report! Make way! Urgent report! Make way!"
