Darren ran into the forest, not knowing where he was running to but kept running to where his instinct take him to. A human is in danger, in the hands of Ambrosia. He can't let the crazy woman harm any human when he is around. He was going to protect her no matter what. He ran towards a narrowed path and stopped when he heard footsteps approaching where he was.
The blondie ran out of the bush and ran into Darren whose eyes fell on her immediately she ran out. She looked at his face and calmed a bit, at least he looks normal unlike the monster she saw.
"Help me!!" she cried out tugging his shirt. Her face was covered with bruises because of the multiple times she fell to the ground while trying to escape from the monster woman who was approaching her. She pointed towards the path she came out from and bursted into tears, "There is a monster, please help me." she cried out.
Darren felt a presence behind him and turned sharply, only to see Ambrosia standing behind him, eying the girl beside him hungrily. She looked at Darren and they got caught in each other's gazes. Her fangs were long and sharp, her nails were like short blade but could kill thousands of soldiers. Ambrosia cut the long gaze and fixed her eyes back to the girl who was trying to hide behind Darren, shivering in fright.
"Calm down Ambrosia, do not hurt her." he said trying to stop Ambrosia from going any further. She remained fixed in her spot, looking at Darren who was standing in the way between her and her prey. She growled at him but he refused to move away, which only angered her.
She hissed loudly, "Get out of my way." she said in a firm voice, but that voice carried the anger she was about to release on Darren, who was getting in her way. Darren, even after knowing what will become of him if he doesn't let her have the girl, still remained standing with the purpose of saving the girl behind him. No matter what, he wasn't going to let the monster get her way.
"She is still young and made a mistake of coming into this forest. Spare her or just keep her captive, but don't kill her." he begged but in a tight voice, trying to contain the anger and hatred he felt towards Ambrosia that moment. The woman was definitely a venomous witch who stains her body with the blood of innocent people. The dark and hungry look on her face made him realize that his pleading was nothing to her. He almost forgot how evil she is.
Darren sighed loudly and bit his lower lips. Trying to ask for her mercy? That is just a waste of time. "I did forgot who you are for a moment. You don't have a heart. You are as heartless as a beast. No, you are a beast. You almost killed my sister so what made me think you wouldn't try to do the same?" he asked and looked at her with much hostility. "A person like you doesn't deserve a heart at all."
Ambrosia laughed out loudly and a strong breeze blew around them, raising the dust and making the trees leaves to move at different directions. Darren covered his ears from her shrilling laughter and closed his eyes tight to prevent the dust and dirt from entering into them.
Ambrosia pointed her finger at the scared girl behind him and vanished. Darren looked around and wondered where she had gone with the young girl who wasn't behind him anymore. His heart was beating so loud that whoever stands before him will hear it clearly, as he wondered what Ambrosia was up to with the young girl. That witch disappeared to a place he wouldn't go to. He cursed under his breath and turned towards the castle, wondering if she took her there. He took a step to go back to the castle but halted when Ambrosia appeared before him with the girl. Her left hand held the Blondie girl's head in place, giving her a good view of her neck. Ambrosia moved her fingers on the Blonde girl neck drawing a straight line with her sharp nails, earning a small cry from the Blondie. She brought her finger to her mouth and picked the blood stained on them.
"Word so true. You speak the truth. I am heartless and I need no heart. I am a beast and a monster. I am the queen of this forest and the last original surviving. I fear no one and I spare no one." She stared at Darren for a while before she finally dug her fangs into the girl's neck earning a loud scream from her. The blondie was left at the mercy of Ambrosia and couldn't struggle as her soul was slowly leaving her body.
Darren couldn't move any part of his body as he watched everything in horror. He was so shocked that he went numb.
The blondie was slowly losing her life and she knew that was the end for her. She wouldn't be able to see her mother again and everyone close to her. This was it for her. She smiled bitterly as she thought of the last conversation she had with her mother....
'Don't worry dear, I am okay. Just be okay too and let's live long together.' her sick mother had said before she left the hospital for the forest.
All she wanted was just some money to make her mother okay again. Who will watch over her mother now?
Her tears flow freely down her cheeks as she slowly closed her eyes. "Sorry mother." she said not sure if she spoke it out. If only she could see her mother one more time and tell her that. Her mom will be all alone now. A tear fell down her eyes and her life was drawn out of her body.
Ambrosia pulled out her bloodied fangs and pushed the lifeless body aside. Her mouth, teeth, chin was covered in blood. She used her fingers to clean the blood on her lip and looked at Darren who was standing in the same spot, with shock and terror registered on his face. What he just experienced made him want to kill Ambrosia, but he just couldn't move his body still. He looked at the lifeless girl whose body turned pale already and then back at Ambrosia who had her usual demeanor. He wanted to save her. He thought a reasonable conversation with Ambrosia would change her mind from killing the young innocent girl, but a beast will always be a beast.
Ambrosia walked towards him with her hands behind her back and her eyes fixed on him. Her eyes were back to it normal color and her teeth were back to normal with her long sharp fangs gone. Darren watched her with hostility, and anger, wishing he could make her vanish from the earth painfully that moment, but the woman isn't that easy to defeat.
She got to where he stood and walked passed him. Darren quickly turned back and held her arm ankle, forcing her to turn back sharply, but immediately she did, every part of her body went numb. To Darren's eyes, everything around them, the whole world around them, went still. Nothing made any sound except his heart beat which was racing faster than normal. Black mist surrounded them and formed a cocoon, trapping them in it. A bright light shone on their faces and everything happened so fast in a blink of an eye. Ambrosia was pushed to a distance away from Darren, by a strong wind, pushing her to the floor with a heavy thud. Darren also fell to the ground. The mist dispersed almost immediately and everything unfroze.
