Axel's lips curved up into a barely noticeable smirk when she went completely still. I knew that would work' he thought, as he continued down the stairs with a blank face.
It wouldn't work for everyone, but he had been certain she would react the exact same way she just did. A rush of satisfaction spread around his heart as her struggles ceased. He didn't look at her face because he knew that she would be wearing that look that could drive him crazy.
