Chapter 35 - His Endless Tricks

Allen believed that Randy's idea was brilliant.

In the passing years, they beat their asses to rebuild the time machine and did countless test runs to make it work. But as usual, they would only fail.

Now with the ancient data in their hands, maybe it could help them time travel through a portal that opens by a sorcerer or a sorceress.

Upon having a new hope, Allen hid the light in his eyes. These pieces of information must be kept confidential.

Looking at Randy, he questioned the guy. "Then? What are you still doing here? Why don't you start working on the new program?"

"Fine." Randy sneered in his heart. He knew why Allen wanted to kick him out when his ass hadn't warmed in his seat.

Randy walked to the entrance after getting up from the chair. He glanced at the loveseat, the only furniture in the middle of the living room. Randy shook his head and mumbled, 'I wonder what this guy was thinking.'

He wondered if Allen realized that his actions would only cause Violet to hate him to the core even more. But Randy knew well that he better keep his thoughts to himself. In this way, he stays alive.

"Ah!"

When a robot appeared in front of him, he was startled and screamed.

Randy glared at the robot, who grinned at him. He recognized him as the kitten's nanny that was named after him. The nanny robot pressed a button on the wall, and the entrance door slid open.

"Goodbye, Doctor Lao," said Randy the Robot in a ridiculous manner.

"Humph!" Randy engraved in his heart the grudge he felt for this robot because it always startled him when they encountered each other.

Annoyed. Thus, he ignored the robot and turned around to remind Allen of something.

"Allen, don't forget to disable your AI. Otherwise, the human Violet would beat your ass toward hell."

Hearing Randy's advice, Allen raised a brow and said, "Do you wish to be beaten up by me first?"

With Allen's threat, Randy chose not to stay another second in his Lab but dashed outside in an instant. After the door shut off behind him, Randy looked over his shoulder and hissed, "What a pitiful man!"

"I heard you."

Randy shuddered when Allen's voice echoed at the speaker by the doorsteps. He ran toward his solar scooter and disappeared without a trace.

Allen shook his head, grinning with amusement, watching Randy run for his life. "Heh."

The grin on his face broadened when Laney sent a message informing him they were on their way to the facility.

Allen was delighted that his assistant was able to convince Violet.

After Violet gave a piece of her mind to Laney, she gave up and followed him to the aircraft waiting for them on the rooftop of this building.

Wasting her time already, she sees nothing will happen even if she continues fretting toward the employees, as it was apparent that this was their boss's other way to annoy her by giving her a hard time.

'Such a bully until now!' Violet sneered in her heart. She swore to herself to take her vengeance on the guy later.

Violet halted at the first step of the aircraft stairs. She was plotting how to get back at Allen; then, her gaze was drawn toward the giant energy conductor set up in the middle of the rooftop.

She looked up and studied the energy conductor. She realized that it was designed differently. Looking at it closely, she could tell that Allen spent so much fortune building this advanced energy conductor to generate the city's shield.

"Miss?"

Laney called out to Violet and showed her her seat.

Aboard Crow Tech aircraft, Violet looked outside the window and peeked at the busy city below.

They passed the flyover bridges where cars move by magnetic fields. These automobiles were floating from the ground but were still built with tires to run on ordinary roads. So the vehicles become even pricey to be labeled as luxurious.

Thus, the lower class called the flyover "For The Wealthy Lane."

'How ridiculous!' Violet tugged the corner of her mouth, thinking of how technology significantly separated the rich and the poor in society by determining what a person could afford.

The man responsible for this broad segregation in society is Allen. Since becoming the Crow Tech president, he proposed many changes to the city, and now everyone relies on his technology.

"Miss Violet, we've reached the facility."

Violet came back to her senses after she had fallen into deep thoughts. Her eyes traveled throughout the facility and scanned the premises while the aircraft slowly landed on the ground.

Laney brought her to the security zone to undergo a security scan.

After getting her clearance, granted in just a few seconds, Laney brought her to a lounge area and invited her to take a seat.

Violet thought that it was where Allen would meet her. But she did not know that the staff in the security scanning zone was stunned while watching her through the monitoring screen.

"Are our records correct, sir?" One staff member queried his superior.

"It was on our computer, so this data was correct."

"What's going on?" At that exact moment, Randy entered the room.

"Doctor Lao! Glad you were here! We are puzzled that Miss Shang's AI Flora is recorded as the same level as our AI Violet."

Randy swept a peek at the entire room. He took off his glasses, scratched his forehead, and pinched the upper bridge of his nose.

This is classified information, so he warned the security personnel. "I believe this question should not be raised, especially in the boss's presence. What do you think would happen when you had signed an NDA?"

'You just want to gossip about the boss!' That is what Randy wanted to tell these gentlemen.

Well, no other person knew that Flora and Violet were twins. Allen created these two AI with the same capability. Even their holograms had identical features copied from Violet's appearance.

However, Allen limits Flora's operations so that Violet would always run to him when her AI malfunctions.

'I wonder what Violet would do to Allen after she learns his endless tricks?' Unless he spilled the beans, there would be a show to watch.

Hearing Randy's statement, every security personnel did not dare to speak again.

Doctor Lao is correct, they thought. Their job is to monitor the guests while undergoing the security scan and issue the clearance after the computer security system recognizes this person and grants entry to the facility.

"Doctor Lao!" At the door, Laney entered the room. "Miss Violet insisted on seeing you. What should I do?"

Randy glanced at Violet on the monitoring screen. He understood why the girl's brows knitted together. She must be upset to learn that the person who will meet her is Allen.

He was aware that Violet hated Allen because of how he had been teasing her in the past.

"Alright. Listen up, Laney." Randy brought Laney to a place where no one was around. He leaned over and whispered in his ear. After instructing with something, Laney rushed back to the lounge area.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting, Miss Violet." Laney immediately apologized.

Impatient in her seat, Violet pursed her lips and queried, "So? Where is your boss?"

"Erm, Miss. I went to inquire if Doctor Lao was available. But Doctor Lao has to take rounds to inspect every energy conductor throughout the city."

Violet sized up Laney. Why does no one explain this to her earlier?

She was still in disbelief that it became a massive misunderstanding regarding her appointment with a Crow Tech executive.

As their SVIP client, Violet believes she has the right to complain about the service she received.

But as she heard Laney's reason, which was more valid this time, she calmed down and stopped fretting over it.

"So? Where is your boss?" Violet repeated her question earlier.

"I will take you to him, Miss."

Violet followed Laney with no question this time. But she was confused about why Laney brought her into the woods behind the facility, two miles away.

"We're here. Miss." Laney opened the car door, and Violet got out while scanning the place.

Violet opened her mouth to inquire Laney about something, but the assistant had already disappeared from her sight.

"What the hell?" She was stupefied, watching the vehicle trot away. Violet cursed Lainey for just leaving her just like that.

Violet didn't know that Laney had received the instruction from his boss that he had to leave immediately. And since she had no choice but to press the doorbell by herself.

Violet walked to the door and pressed a button. Not long, the door slid open, and the last person she wanted to see was standing half-naked in front of her.

"Hello, love!"

Violet dropped her jaw on the tile floor. Her eyelashes fluttered in annoyance staring at Allen's exposed chest.

Gritting her teeth, she blinked and barked,

"Is this how you welcome your client?"
