Chapter 39 - Those Jealous Eyes

While Allen is taking his shower, Violet cannot contain the joy filling her heart as she strolls into the entire greenhouse. She enjoyed browsing the screens to read the information on every variety she found.

It was efficient of Allen to put enough information on what kind of species they are. She may already know these plants, but several of these species she has never seen yet before as they cannot find them just anywhere.

Yet, she was still in disbelief that Allen also studied ecosystems.

Honestly, she was constantly fretting over because of the no-ending changes Allen made to many cities in the country, introducing and persuading the government and society to use his invention and technology. It is why she thought the big difference between her and Allen had; that they had opposite values and perspectives.

Although advanced technology helps companies like hers, on the contrary, there are disadvantages and its impact on poor people, such as lesser work for everyone. That is why, at most, she was still hiring human employees to work with machines.

Earlier before she got in here, she was fuming and plotting how she could fret at Allen, perhaps rebuke him for good, but now she almost wholly forgot everything she had in mind.

Instead, she was utterly immersed in strolling around the greenhouse, filled with plants and flowers that were rare to find anywhere in the world.

Violet pulled out her phone and started taking pictures of these flowers. She was fascinated to find a rare orchid already extinct in this world. Thus, she wondered how Allen grew them.

"You want some water?"

Violet was immersed in taking a picture of a particular orchid, and she didn't notice Allen standing behind her.

Approaching from behind, Allen showed up with bottled water in his hand. Violet immediately scanned him, and she was relieved that he was wearing a shirt at last. Flaunting that firm chest, broad shoulders, and eight packs of abs would not make her drool over him like every woman who wishes to spread in front of him.

Giving him a strange look, Violet took the water in his hand, and she found the cap was already twisted. Allen understood the way she gazed at him suspiciously.

"I already opened it, if you don't mind." He explained immediately, "You may find it difficult to open it, so…."

Violet was speechless. A part of her protested that this was only Allen's pretense, and there was no way he'd suddenly become a gentleman. On the contrary, the back of her mind wants to believe that maybe he is sincere this time because she was his top client.

'Alright. Fine!' She would be nice to him as he did an excellent job building a massive greenhouse like this.

"Thank you."

After she thanked Allen, Violet drank a few mouthful gulps of the water, then put back the cap and resumed strolling around.

"So, when did you begin working in your greenhouse?"

Violet was curious to hear when Allen had had an interest in studying plants. She only knew that he was an inventor and excellent at building devices, creating something like the shield. So it astounds her that Allen is interested in preserving living organisms such as plants.

Following close behind her, Allen smiled and said, "Why don't we take a seat first? Randy prepared some snacks for us."

Violet turned around and wanted to comment, but Allen strode in another direction. She had no choice but to follow him.

After a few meters, she notices a giant door open, and she is welcomed with soothing melodies from countless birds singing above the gigantic trees. They were like lullabying her soul with a song only one's heart could understand.

There are no words she could describe. She thought the botanical garden was already impressive, but the next room was also incredible and made her speechless.

"Come in."

Violet snapped her head from zoning out. She made a hurried step, and it felt like she was entering another realm.

Once inside the forest hall, the door closed, and she noticed Allen tapping on his mobile device. Soon, she heard the hovering sound above their heads. Violet looked up, and she watched the ceiling split up slowly.

The weather today is excellent after the superstorm. The sky was so blue, with clouds forming various forms creating an art spreading throughout.

Violet was utterly amazed. This greenhouse could squeeze not only such fortune but also time and effort to care for them. She was completely mesmerized by the place when someone suddenly shouted at her.

"Mom! Over here!"

Violet saw Randy the Robot standing near an artificial waterfall, waving at her. Looking at this nanny, she doesn't know whether to laugh and cry at how he is putting in a lot of effort to look cute.

"This place is lovely." She praised, traveling her eyes to the pond where the waterfall flowed down. She was happily watching the giant koi swimming around.

"Mom, what would you like? Hot or cold tea?"

Randy is now standing next to her, waiting for her reply. For a moment, Violet pondered. She peered at the tea table filled with pastries and fruits, then glanced at Allen, whose hand gestured at her to take a seat.

"I'll prefer tea," Violet replied to Randy before striding toward Allen, who pulled a chair for her. She sat down and thanked him. Allen also sat down across from her.

Randy wheeled toward Allen but the words stuck in his throat when his creator gave him a warning stare. He laughed nervously. He was tempted to address him as a dad just today, seizing the opportunity while Violet was present. He knew he could not act boldly alone with this hopeless Loverboy.

"Mom preferred the hot tea." He whispered to Allen, then left immediately to feed the fish in the pond. Keisha followed him, and Violet was amused watching them.

The kitten stretched its tiny right front paw to the pond, eager to catch the fish.

Violet stood up and picked up Keisha. She was worried the kitten would fall into the pond. "Come here."

Watching her retreating back, Randy was too jealous. He wondered if Violet would carry him if he was a small robot and did not weigh a hundred pounds.

Allen caught those jealous eyes. His brow lifted upward. It seemed like he over-program this nanny robot.

'I should review his system after today.'
