She was silent for a moment when she heard my question before she nodded her head in agreement with what I asked her earlier. The two eyes that still looked teary actually made Beth's figure look fragile in my eyes.
I don't feel like my best friend, who is usually ready to throw her fists at me whenever she wants or on the grounds that she thinks I've done something enough to offend her.
And it made me start to miss the usual Beth, not the Beth in front of my eyes right now.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry like this."
She shook her head slowly as she took my hand, which was about to wipe back the tears that had fallen down her cheeks. "It's okay, Marleen. I should be the one apologizing to you for ruining your time with Shanon earlier."
"What are you apologizing for? You didn't ruin my time with Shanon at all."
"You might think so, but how about Shanon?"
"Sharon? What's wrong with her?"
