The entire cell froze at the sight of Beth's question gliding out of the picture. While swallowing, I am trying to be as normal as possible in front of my best friend, who is still waiting for an answer to her question.
"Are you sure about what you said earlier? About me repeatedly calling Iskandar's name when I was still feverish yesterday?"
Beth nodded her head when she heard my question earlier. "Yes. I really believe in this one."
"Are you sure about that? Maybe you misremembered or misheard that, and now you just want to hear what you hear. Not listen to what I actually said when I had a fever yesterday."
"No, Marleen. I'm pretty sure that's what you bought in between your naps when you had a fever yesterday. Eh, but wait a second."
"Yes? What is wrong?"
"Is that only my feeling, or are you underestimating my memory skills?"
