Chereads / A Demonic Fate / Chapter 11 - The Letter

Chapter 11 - The Letter

*The south-East of the Country*

A man was sitting at a table in an office, doing some paperwork. He looked very serious. The man looked as if he was in his early forties but still very cooperate. As he was going through the papers

*Ring*Ring*Ring*

He got a call from the reception. He picked up the phone. The receptionist spoke.

"Mr Erick, sir, a letter just came in for you..."

"From?"

"Not stated"

"Okay... type it and send it to me via email".

"I'm sorry sir, I can't. I think you have to see it yourself."

"Fine, bring it to my office in person."

"Right away, sir".

At about five minutes later, Mr. Erick heard a knock on the door. The company was really big, it had to ten floors or so and Erick's office was at the top most top of the company. The reason it took the receptionist such a short time to get to the top is because he used the VIP elevator.

The VIP elevator was different from other ones, it was strictly for Don Erick and anything related to him so therefore, it wasn't used commonly. It was the classiest, fastest elevator in the company and it had a code that very few staffs knew, this receptionist was one of them, infact, he wasn't just a receptionist, he was Don Erick's most trusted staff, his P.A. His name was Christopher.

Christopher isn't an ordinary guy; he was a demon just like Don. He and Don grew up together in their home town, "The demon realm" (across the endless river). They were best friends and also Christopher was his sworn personal assistant from birth. Sworn to be with Don, protect him and assist him till death.

"I feel like you'd understand this letter better by reading it yourself." Christopher said as he entered the office.

"You know, I feel a strong aura emitting from this letter almost like it came from the demon realm, our home..." Christopher handed the letter to Don.

"... Me too". Don replied as he opened the letter to read. His eyes widened.

"Whoa!" "It's from that old man, King Bolta, my father. I wonder what he wants." Don started reading. Christopher wondered what it read and as if reading his mind, Don said,

"It looks like he wants me to come see him ASAP. It looks very urgent."

"So you are going to leave your work?" Christopher asked feeling somewhat scared.

"Yes Chris, Bolta clearly stated how important it is for me to be there and you know my father, he's a hothead when it comes to the kingdom, besides, you will be here to run the business while I'm gone." Don winked during that last sentence.

Chris rolled his eyes and groaned."Ugh! Why me?!"

"Don't be lazy Chris, I'll just be gone for 3weeks".

It takes 3 days to get there and back which is approximately a week, and he plans on staying there for a 2 weeks.

Okay, Don Erick is Creston's father who abandoned him and his mom. He is a demon but he's not in the "family business" of demons he'd rather just live life like a normal human in the city but he was a really wealthy businessman, he owns a hospital and several hotels.

Don was set to travel the next day on an average size private boat. It was a Luxury boat, having professional chefs to whip up a meal or a snack whenever Don wanted.

So off he went to his home

...

Back in Creston's place...

Creston was scolded for punching an old pan, he felt his parents were being irrational for scolding him, like, it's just an old pie pan, no one was going to use it anyway.

Creston hadn't recovered from the fact that he's a demon, but hey! Him being a demon wasn't so bad, Creston discovered he had awesome ability, not like it was new he just learnt how to trigger it and he was going to tell Levi.

Levi was his best friend, he was the only child of a super wealthy businessman.

Creston called Levi and after the pleasantries and regular greetings, Creston told him that he was coming over and he couldn't talk about it over the phone.

So Creston's went to Levi's place on his scooter. Levi's house was big and so... awesome. Compared to Levi's place, Creston lived in a rat hole but no matter how much wealth Levi had, he was never mean like typical rich teenage brats.

Creston got out of his scooter which he parked by the side of the house, and was going in when he bumped into Levi's mom,

"Oh sorry ma'am"

"It's okay, sweetie, I'm leaving now, I have some business to attend to, you guys have fun but don't wreck the house, okay."

Creston nodded. He was very familiar with this place, Levi's mom and dad welcomes him anytime and every time he comes, so he didn't need permission to go to Levi's room.
